Trolling on Example in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I'll be damned if this isn't Ajmonaprid 🤣

We really managed to drop the ball this time, didn't we?

Robert Torres, if you were the one who started this thread, I probably wouldn't say a word. I'll be the first to admit that my own son is driving me up the wall right now, though I realize things aren't always as black and white as they seem. ruggedjackal46 laid out his reasoning quite clearly, didn't he? And besides, we are finally on the verge of seeing that solution we've all been calling for...

Ashley Kern said:A larger circle of people? Sure, if you mean the handful of people supporting you—maybe five or six of you. I’m sorry, but that isn't a "larger circle," nor does it serve as much of an argument. With that comment, you've simply shown that you aren't capable of having a constructive conversation.

A larger circle than the group of people who actually provided me with feedback? In reality, the only one who disagreed was Henry Lee84, and even then, it wasn't due to a lack of comprehension, but rather because he disputes the veracity of certain facts.

Admittedly, if I weigh those ten people offering positive feedback against a potential audience of six billion readers, I suppose I can't really claim to be speaking to a massive crowd.

If something wasn't clear to you, why not just ask? When clarity is lacking, it is only natural that it might come across as trolling or provocation.

As for the matter of constructive conversation, I find myself asking you again—in what specific part of this discussion have I failed to hold my own? I am asking you to provide a concrete explanation of where exactly you believe I haven't proven my point. Which syllogism or which particular fact strikes you as weak? Until you can elaborate on those details for me, how am I supposed to offer you a more detailed response?

Ashley Kern said:I'm not trolling. You are avoiding the question again. Is there constant trolling in the La Liga thread? Yes, and why do you deny it? You constantly dodge the issue and refuse to address it. Is it really so difficult for you to admit that you are exaggerating?

It is simply not true that there is constant trolling. That is a falsehood, and you know it. It is true that there is more mutual ribbing here than in other threads, but that is merely a reflection of the sheer number of supporters for the two biggest clubs—the most intense rivalry in the world today—and perhaps a slightly more emotional display of loyalty than we see in other rivalries. For heaven's sake, the El Clásico rivalry is intense enough to cause actual skirmishes in the Middle East; what other international derby can say the same?

Every thread is a mirror of the current state of its respective league or club, whether it's La Liga, the MLS, the Premier League, or the Dinamo Chicago thread.

And yes, there is more trolling and off-topic chatter in the La Liga thread during the off-season when there are no matches, but if that weren't the case, the thread would be practically dead—much like the other league threads—unless we count darkmarlin16 following Deportivo La Coruña with his dry one-liners.

But that is just La Liga; it is what it is. And that very nature is what has drawn in many users who didn't previously post here regularly. Yet, no one talks about that—instead, the focus remains on those "who can't write," whoever they may be.

If an alternative is desired, there is no problem there; we have suggested it many times. However, if a separate thread were to open, I would hope that all those currently making a fuss would have enough intellectual honesty to stay away from it, choosing instead to stick to the "normal" topics. Those topics will likely only see twenty or thirty posts in an entire representative week—and that's assuming the people who usually don't contribute decide to chime in.

Ashley Kern said:It’s honestly all pretty irrelevant, isn't it? When you consider the fact that they spend their entire time over there just relentlessly trolling.

Of course it matters. You seem to want to micromanage communication that you aren't even a part of—a conversation you've never actually joined. Besides, nobody is forcing you to read it, is anyone? This isn't like having neighbors who scream at each other every single night, leaving you with absolutely no choice but to listen whether you want to or not.

Ashley Kern said:It seems you haven’t managed to contribute anything meaningful to a single constructive debate. I still recall that massive post you wrote recently, where you went on at length only to prove absolutely nothing and offer no actual insight. You spent the whole time leveling accusations against Henry Lee84 and hurling insults his way, which is quite ironic considering Henry Lee84 is arguably even more difficult to deal with than you are.

I’m sorry if you found that post a bit difficult to follow, though it really wasn't all that complicated. It was built around a single, straightforward thesis supported by perhaps three or four solid arguments. Was it truly such a complex read?

If nobody had understood what he was saying, I might have actually been open to the criticism, but the point landed clearly enough for a significant group of people. It wasn't just a few insiders, either; even folks outside the usual Real-Barcelona circle seemed to get exactly where he was coming from.

Ashley Kern said:It seems you've finally latched onto a topic that suits your interests, but unfortunately, things don't always work quite that way, do they?

I simply found myself getting caught up in that specific topic you brought up earlier.

Michael Gonzalez2 As if anyone really needs more input on this?
I mean, we’ve been dissecting CR's bag for four or five pages now, but does anyone actually see how much that has to do with the Example?

Are you kidding me? There are maybe twenty posts total regarding Ronald's bag. It barely covers a single page, and that's only if you count the entire period of sour pickles when it comes to the Examples themselves. I really don't understand why you're inflating the scale by 400 or 500 percent, especially if the issue is actually as bad as it seems on its own.
Trolling on Example in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Michael Gonzalez2, why don't you give us a masterclass on how "constructive conversation" is actually supposed to work over at Example? Or perhaps there's some sort of arrangement where we're being paid just to commission the very posts you intend to read?

By the way, feel free to point me toward any constructive debate where I supposedly failed to hold my own. Or maybe ask Tore to weigh in. Go ahead, tear my arguments apart. Why not start by demonstrating exactly how you handle defending your own positions right from the jump?

And honestly, I fail to see how discussions regarding Lionel Messi's taxes, or the specific playing styles of Spanish clubs and their players, aren't perfectly valid topics for Example. Whether these subjects somehow stifle other discussions is a question for another time. While the topic remains unified, all related debates will stay right here; if they get split up, they certainly won't.
It really makes you wonder—why wouldn't there be ten full pages dedicated to Messi’s tax issues if there was enough interest to drive it? Or why is it that some reporters are allowed to look the other way when it comes to Real Madrid or Barcelona, while others face nothing but stigma just because they aren't interested in Getafe?

Fine, if we’re such a nuisance to them, let’s just head elsewhere. I honestly couldn't care less where we end up writing. Just take all your internal bickering and trolling over to some El Clásico troll thread, or whatever passing drama is happening in American soccer. I don't understand why that kind of behavior is perfectly acceptable over there, yet completely taboo here.
It wouldn't hurt if you all learned a little bit about how life actually works from us over at the University of Michigan☕
darkmarlin16 said:Honestly, can we just take all that childish, petty nonsense regarding the Barca-Madrid rivalry and shove it somewhere else? Seriously, they’ve completely trashed the entire thread about examples.

darkmarlin16 said:It’s honestly exhausting when some die-hard Lakers fan, who happens to have players on his roster known for being absolute thugs like Draymond or Pepe, tries to generalize how everyone plays.😂🙏

Just shut down the forum already; there's nothing left here.

.

That’s where you can find the exit.
Bold move, considering how high the bar was set last season ☕
I’m fairly certain that Alex Cook’s intro is going to be the absolute standout [IMAGE REMOVED]
Morgan Williams said:People might think I’m jumping on their side, but honestly, 60% of VB fans react like toddlers to even the most childish taunts. If ZZ wrote that Messi was an amateur, those five would swallow it whole.

I reckon if we just deleted posts alongside issuing heavy fines, all these problems would vanish overnight.

Prika, we’re actually on the same page here regarding this matter.

Full support for Carlos against these schemes.

People really don't seem to grasp that someone can say something far more meaningful in two short sentences than another person can in two whole pages of text. If they manage to poke at their interlocutor with a bit of wit at the same time, well, that's just a bonus, isn't it? At the end of the day, nobody wants to hang out with the boring types in real life, so why should things be any different here?
A plague? Perhaps. But I’d take a plague over a situation where a group has to apologize for having a (genuinely hilarious) database regarding their rivals. ☕

By the way, Larry Fox5, don't you find yourself—across various different threads—explaining things strictly through your own unique lens?

Anthony Jackson2 said:Nah, it’s not about the Real vs. Barça rivalry itself—that's fine. The issue is that these debates always devolve into a complete circus.

I'm not so sure about that. If every single person contributes three or four posts to a specific subject within a thread, then a debate between the Yankees and the Red Sox automatically stretches to four pages, making the act of scrolling through them feel incredibly tedious. ☕
I get the feeling this isn't actually about trolling, but rather the sheer intensity of the debates surrounding the Lakers and the Celtics. They dominate the conversation, and they tend to grate on the nerves of anyone who doesn't care for them. It’s quite obvious we have two entirely different worlds operating within the NBA.

Yet, it would be genuinely strange if the volume of posts regarding those two teams wasn't so overwhelming. This stems both from the unique hierarchy of the league—where everything revolves around those franchises—and the reality that there are two massive, opposing camps of fans. Naturally, more content will emerge from the "debate" side of things rather than just pure reporting. I don't see how one could suppress that, nor do I see any reason to try (separating them is a different matter entirely...).
Gentlemen, why has the Ballon d'Or thread been locked, and what was the reason for scrubbing the entries regarding the discrepancies between European and South American qualifiers?
It might actually be helpful to include the title number 🤷
I wonder, will the Swedes be waiting until the third round to make their introduction? ☕
I suppose there is a certain gravity to these moments, isn't there? One finds oneself contemplating the weight of tradition and the quiet dignity that settles over a room when everyone understands the significance of the occasion. It makes you wonder if we truly grasp the continuity of these customs, or if we are simply going through the motions of a ceremony that feels increasingly distant from our modern, hurried lives. Is it possible to maintain that sense of solemnity in an age where everything is designed for speed rather than reflection? kaže:
What’s the deal with that proposal from Magarčev regarding the FHR Five?🤷

We're all just sitting here, waiting for that donkey to finally decide which league he’s actually going to cover. ☕
If you ever find yourselves needing a hand dealing with spammers or trolls, just know that we're always here to back you up.
If there happen to be several people interested in the same league, perhaps they could just take turns.

It’s a shame he has just slightly less than one supporter behind him.
