The Bee Movie

I'm on board with most of what’s been said here, but let’s be real—have you actually looked at the kind of cartoons being churned out for kids these days? Between stuff like Shrek 3 and The Simpsons, none of this is actually designed to make a kid laugh at a clever joke. Mind you, maybe I just stick to animation aimed at older audiences. It feels like this movie targets younger kids through the sheer visual spectacle and how they built out that bee world—which, honestly, was pretty captivating 🙂 )
If I had one major gripe with the film, it would be the underlying message. I mean, what are they even trying to say here? The idea that no matter how soul-crushing or monotonous a job is, or how much you want to escape it, you shouldn't even try because it won't end well? That's nonsense. If a job is "dumb" but serves the greater good, then you should find fulfillment in doing it. Once you accept that, everything falls into place, the world thrives, everyone's happy, and you've found your purpose. 🙄
Personally, that message hit me pretty hard. It's honestly sad for kids watching this stuff; they're never going to grow up to be true idealists 😢
