Sandra Brown18 said:That wasn't meant as a joke. It’s a shame you aren't over on Women's Corner, otherwise you could accuse most of the women there of writing crudely.
I didn't rush my words. If you want evidence, go ask the female users who leveled those "accusations," which paved the way for the upcoming practice of ignoring actual sources and relying on forum slang instead.
Clearly, despite my multiple attempts at explaining, you haven't grasped the context of that phrase.

I understand the context perfectly; there's no need for you to explain it because I know exactly what's going on, with or without your input.

No, using a phrase like 'people are saying it on the subway' is fine for casual chat, and on Women's Corner, it's actually quite normal and established.

But bringing that same language into a serious debate anywhere else on this forum is just mocking your interlocutors and undermining the discussion.

You're trying to lump everything together right now, and it's simply not going to work.

By the way, I've used that exact same phrase on the casual threads two or three times myself, so I suggest you stop 'moralizing' about what I should or shouldn't be saying to the girls over there.

Yeah, a water taxi—in my case, if I recall correctly, 🤔. 😁

I have to admit, I was genuinely taken aback. Taking that phrase entirely too literally.Does anyone actually believe people have deep, sensitive conversations while riding a subway?...

This is your typical pattern of condescension toward everyone you talk to—not to mention your habit of tampering with posts through editing until they’re completely unrecognizable.

Nobody actually thinks you’re going to get the real scoop while riding the subway. 🙄

Would you call it "debating" if someone tries to undermine an argument using data they can't actually back up because they just made it all up on the spot?
And then you have the nerve to be all brief and dismissive about it, acting like you just overheard some random gossip on the subway.

And nobody asked you where that phrase came from.

That's a completely different story. You rushed into things and went straight to accusing the forum of leaking data, yet you haven't produced a single shred of evidence to back that up.

Why is it allowed for posts to be edited so heavily that they no longer resemble what was originally written, especially after someone has already replied to them or referenced them in some way?

For instance, Mark Harris66 has essentially gone back and edited almost every single one of her posts here, completely altering their original meaning. Now, all the replies directed at her look somewhat nonsensical or unfounded because the context has shifted.

Sandra Brown18 said:They’re coming after me, claiming that... I’m not handing over my sources on Reddit.I reserve the right to keep my sources anonymous.
That’s just standard journalistic practice.

And you were right there on Reddit, too. You basically ate that whole lie about the "new transit lines" just once.

Sandra Brown18 said:Duplicate.

You're just making things up. It’s not a duplicate; you simply deleted the content of the post, which only those with specific permissions can actually see. 🤦
Is this allowed, Mod? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Everything they said hits the mark. Honestly, whoever voiced those points, I don't see anything scandalous about it at all.
The Return of Censorship: Part 2 in Feedback & Suggestions ·
So, you actually put a direct link to your own complaint right in the opening post? Are we really calling that being "original" now? 🤦
Volvo, philosophy, and one quick question in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Good grief, look at what this philosophy forum has devolved into now that these two are constantly breathing down its neck🤦

And what an insightful take... apparently, she frequently has diverse perspectives, oh wow, truly groundbreaking stuff 🙏

And then they claim... a moderator needs to feel like part of some elite circle, as if being a construction worker meant he didn't feel like he belonged either🥱
Moderators, please address the insults in this thread in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Why is this thread even being allowed to stay up?

Some guy posts at 1:01 PM saying he’s going to report a post.
And then he shows up here.
And his little announcement is still sitting right there on the thread.

Does he not have a report button or something?

E:
And apparently, he doesn't even know which language the insult is in 🤦
Joseph Taylor11 said:I read that too. I'm assuming it *is* new, because when this first started, they turned me down for that exact reason (my property was in the same County).
Now, I can basically drive there without even needing a pass.

So, if they could have allowed it from the very start, 🤔 what was all that back-and-forth for? 🙄

☕

It really depends on how everyone interpreted it...
I was granted permission right at the start.
The reason I got it, though, was because I was dealing with a completely different issue.

Which, by the way, this government still hasn't fixed, since the Department of Homeland Security refuses to process residency changes—likely because they're just being lazy and shady.

Oh, please...
Back then, they actually had to explain why kids needed to go with their parents; it wasn't just some automatic assumption.
Whether they're using different criteria now or if things have just changed over time, who knows. I'm looking at these "new" guidelines right now, and apparently, visiting property is considered a vital family reason. It’s either something brand new, or they've just decided from the start that real estate matters fall under "vital"... give me a break.
It’s not a given when it comes to children.
They really need to be explicit about why kids are being allowed in. They shouldn't just lump everyone together under one rule; they should make a specific call if they decide that children are permitted to attend.
Maybe they’ve loosened up recently, but in the past, they were absolutely suffocating us with restrictions.
You can’t go visit them if they’re in a different state, yet you have full access if they’re right here in your own. It’s as if the weight of the decision doesn't actually rest on your shoulders. Like you're somehow expected—or even permitted—to only make choices within the boundaries of a single state.
Look, if you’re having trouble getting your digital credentials sorted on the e-government portal, just tell them you're heading to Mass instead.

We’re essentially covering the exact same ground across two different threads here. 😁
Things have gone completely sideways over at the County Headquarters with that idiot.
I don't have any intention of getting bogged down in the specifics, but I’ve already pointed out how ridiculous it is: they make one sweeping decision from the top to restrict movement immediately, and then suddenly, at the local level, they insist everything has to be voted on as a "merger."

Santa Barbara and Bakar are being a total pain in the neck. Can you believe it? You've got the industrial zone and then down there in Lenac...
Sam Green73 said:I'm curious, how did you end up thinking that way?

Personally, if someone actually has the option to drive, I’d tell them to just take their own car every single time.

Pure sarcasm there. I can't exactly make the trip on my own, but I could certainly manage if there were a dozen or so of them heading toward the grocery store.🙄
Great, then I can just take the subway to the other option. Driving my own car is definitely out of the question.
Amanda Hughes37 said:That's the reality... all I ever wanted was a smooth shot to the suburbs or the city center.

Does the downtown strip even exist anymore?... the boardwalk?...🤦🤦

Honestly, none of this helps me. They let me out for two days, and being as sharp-witted as I am, I ended up trekking all the way back to my place in these old shoes. 😵Next week, I'll be looking for a pass just so I can go pick up some decent white sneakers.
I'll just tell them I need to head out for a religious procession.🙄
Amanda Hughes37 said:They finally scrapped it—now I can go almost wherever I want.🎉🎉

Forget this organic stuff... I’m done with all this home-cooked, "natural" nonsense. Give me a McDonald's burger and call it a day.🤣

Wait, they already have?

I was driving out of the East Side toward the bypass today, right when it hits me—I forgot something absolutely vital. Just one of those moments where your brain just stalls.
So now what? I’m sitting there trying to figure out my route back. I take an immediate right through the industrial district, only to realize, "Oh shoot," I've accidentally headed straight toward the suburbs.
It wasn't exactly a pleasant detour. And let's be real, the suburbs aren't going to play nice with the city folks anyway. Total isolationists. Even when Kroger tries to roll out their new Pick Up service, you can't even make use of it.
Joshua Gray75 said:Or perhaps just suggestions from this forum... 😁

Just look at my previous post:

It is almost as if this entire announcement—this whole gesture—was merely a response to it...

Well... I suppose I chose the wrong career path. I really should have gone into politics...

Actually, it came straight from the field, because people were already making those demands before you even posted😁. Some were practically shouting them the second the new measures were introduced.
