Maybe try some breathing exercises or relaxation techniques? For me, everything shifted once I realized I was dealing with anxiety rather than some mysterious physical illness. Once you identify the culprit, it becomes so much easier to manage.
By the way, millions of Americans deal with various forms of anxiety and panic attacks.
Why mention Americans specifically? It's simply because our healthcare system is highly developed, so these disorders are recognized and diagnosed more frequently. It isn't always that way everywhere.
Please remember, you aren't alone in this. Help is available, and it can be relatively straightforward to find.
And one more thing—stay away from coffee, Coke, or anything else packed with caffeine, since it can act as a major "trigger." Hang in there!👍
Hmm, I think I’ve read a bit about that, though I don't feel like it quite applies to my situation. I suppose I do experience those specific sensations—where everything feels surreal and I feel somewhat lost—but I haven't noticed any of the other typical anxiety symptoms. I'm a little worried that what I'm going through might actually be something else entirely, unfortunately.
My head still feels this way; it’s been about two weeks now. Even though I had four days where things felt calm, it feels like I'm right back at square one. At times I feel okay, but then suddenly there's this total fog and pressure, almost as if my head doesn't even belong to me.
I'm not quite sure what else to say, other than I should probably go see a doctor... 😢
I was just chatting with a doctor earlier—not a neurologist, mind you, but he did suggest that these sensations might just be fluctuations in intracranial pressure triggered by this erratic weather we've been having lately. He told me there’s likely nothing to worry about, though I can't say for certain if I agree. I suppose the only time I've ever felt quite like this was during my old migraine episodes, yet I don't have an actual headache right now. Honestly, I think I'll just wait it out for a little bit; I'm dealing with some PMS symptoms at the moment, which might be playing a role in how I'm feeling. If things don't settle down soon, though, I'll probably make an appointment with a specialist to get a proper neurological opinion.
I actually had my eyes checked about two weeks ago, and my cardiologist gave me the all-clear too—apparently, everything looks perfectly normal on that front. I have to admit, though, the idea of seeing a neurologist absolutely terrifies me. I’ve been doing my best to steer clear of it, but it feels like I might eventually have to face it.
Do you think these symptoms could possibly be stemming from my neck? I tend to slouch quite a bit while working at my computer, and I’m dealing with constant tension and pain in my neck and shoulders. I wonder if that persistent pressure could be causing this blurred vision?
I’ve been dealing with low blood pressure quite consistently lately. On top of that, my vision is pretty poor—I have a -7 prescription, which actually just bumped up to a -8, though I haven't quite adjusted to my new glasses yet. I recently went in to get some things checked out, including sinus imaging, blood work, an EKG, and thyroid hormone levels, and everything came back completely normal. I'm 30 years old.
My blood pressure never seems to climb above 100/60, though I suppose I’d be pretty thrilled if it actually did... As for my sinuses, I’ve been dealing with issues for as long as I can remember. An X-ray shows permanent congestion, even though I don't really deal with the typical symptoms you'd expect from a sinus infection—like a runny nose or constant congestion—just this persistent pressure in my head. What worries me most, though, is this sense of brain fog; it just feels like my head isn't quite clear. I guess, besides sinus issues, what else do you think might be causing this?

😲Six months? Honestly, how on earth have you been managing??? I start losing my mind when it lasts for even a single week... it’s just awful! 😢 The only thing that gives me any peace of mind is knowing that your test results were all clear... 🙂 How are you taking care of yourself? Are you on any medication, or maybe there's something that helps ease that brain fog?
I certainly agree that’s the safest and most effective route to take, but until we get there, I’m really just interested in hearing what everyone else thinks... 🙂
For about a week now, I’ve been feeling this strange sense of "brain fog." It isn't exactly a headache, but more like a constant pressure right across my forehead, combined with this bizarre sensation as if my head is encased in a balloon. The hardest part to deal with is the mental cloudiness itself. When I try to hold a conversation, it feels like I'm talking through a tunnel; my mind just isn't sharp, and everything sounds and looks slightly off to me.
I also have this nagging feeling that I’ve become much more forgetful over the last seven days since this started, and my ability to focus has really taken a hit.
The only time I’ve ever felt anything remotely similar was following a migraine episode, but this time there is no actual pain—just this frustrating, persistent fog. Aside from that, I haven't noticed any other physical symptoms.
This all seemed to kick in last week right when the weather suddenly warmed up here in the States. I suppose it might be related to the change in seasons or the temperature shift, but since it’s been lingering this long, I am starting to get a little worried.😢
I hope I’m making sense, but if anyone has gone through something similar or could share their experiences, I would truly appreciate it.
🙂
I'm looking to get a thorough examination of my eye's exterior and retina. A few different doctors have suggested that Dr. Miller over at Mayo Clinic might be the best specialist for this, and I've heard he also sees patients at the City Health Center.
Since these suggestions are coming from medical professionals rather than actual patients, I was hoping to hear some firsthand accounts from anyone who has actually sat in his exam room.
Thanks so much in advance.
