"Performing at the Coachella VIP stage this year is going to bring an incredible level of energy to the whole experience," says Let3. Honestly, after years of being absolutely unapologetic and wild with their live shows, they've cemented themselves as one of the most powerhouse acts in the entire American music scene. You can catch them late night on the Bud Light Stage—expect the party to keep raging well into the early morning hours...
He went into architecture thinking he’d finally get the recognition he deserves—thinking he’d be some visionary, creative artist—but instead, they just handed him a stylus and told him to trace everyone else's blueprints. You call yourself a tycoon, yet you're out here chasing pipe dreams... 🥳
Look, let’s be honest—anybody you pick from the current crop of indie stars could arguably be even worse than they already are. Or can they? Actually, wait—we haven't seen anyone come out of Sri Lanka yet. 🙄 And frankly, we really should. 👋 👋
I’ve been hearing this rumor floating around—that this washed-up moderator isn't actually a mod at all, but is actually an admin in disguise. Now, look, those are just whispers at this point; I don't have any actual proof, and I'm not one to spread hearsay without facts. 🤷 Besides, word on the street is that absolutely nobody even bothers to suck up to him anyway—not that anyone would want to. 👋
Drew Adams58 said:honestly, what a garbage band—just a bunch of pretentious poseurs who claim to be "socially conscious" by shouting slogans about Bush, yet they wouldn't dream of actually showing up for a workers' strike.
If you ask me, they're nothing more than a bunch of soft-hearted whiners pretending to be tough.
They'll probably just end up singing Christmas carols instead. 🙂
I feel compelled to point out that the stout fellow over at Stupness isn't a true Dalmatian through and through—mostly because he doesn't touch a drop of traditional spirits and insists on posing with a Bud Light instead. I actually overheard this conversation while riding the rapid transit line in San Diego. I suspect Drew Adams58 might be able to back me up on this one, too. Just ask him; he knows exactly what I'm talking about.
"The Performance: 40 Minutes of Vomiting to Elvis Presley's 'Dalmatian' Last night in San Francisco, the artist Lady Gaga staged a performance where she spent roughly forty minutes vomiting into a metal basin—all while Elvis Presley's track 'Dalmatian' looped incessantly in the background. Gaga kept two fingers shoved down her throat, relentlessly retching to the rhythm of the lyrics, "Dalmatian wearing a necklace..."
"The Prodigy hits the stage today with that same relentless intensity—they’re firing on all cylinders, and their sets are easily the high-water mark for energy at any major global festival."
Nicole Baker said:Man, I'm already back home (there were some pretty terrible bands playing during Punk)... today is strictly for detoxing... what else is going on?
spiral stair said:Voodoo Cadillac🙏....they absolutely crushed it. Such a killer set.🙏
Nicole Baker said:Really? The Parapunks crew warned us they should be good, but those guys from Canada totally sucked the life out of us, so we just headed home early... though Gabi looked great last night.🙂
Look, let me repeat myself: I didn't show up at the start (on Saturday)—that whole assembly at The Fillmore was basically just a social mixer, which kept me from getting there sooner. I didn't arrive until Voodoo Cadillac took the stage. They played incredibly well. There was even some crowd surfing happening while they performed and all that jazz... Vex was raving about those Canadians, and Gabi seemed to be really feeling herself—very much in her element. 😁 As for the rest, 🤷
It went something like this. EB & HH The whole vibe was just completely unfocused—we were standing there in front of a half-empty Fillmore, dealing with some tone-deaf novice on the decks and a microphone that sounded like garbage sitting right in front of Biljan's setup. I mean, the volume was cranked to ten, yet you could barely hear a word being said. It was frustrating, honestly. But, I will say, toward the end of the set, the crowd finally started to loosen up a bit. It was a slight improvement, at least. Better than nothing, I suppose. The Scarves - LibrI don't even know where to begin with this one—it’s just one of those things that gets under my skin more than I care to admit. You see it happening everywhere lately, this absolute breakdown in basic standards, and frankly, it’s exhausting. It feels like we're constantly fighting an uphill battle just to maintain some semblance of quality in everything we touch. I was thinking about it the other day—reminded me of that time back in Chicago when everything seemed to have its place, even if it was chaotic—and it struck me how much we've drifted from that. We used to value the details, the grit, the actual substance of things. Now? It’s all surface, all noise, and zero follow-through. It’s infuriating. People expect excellence without putting in the work, and then they act shocked when the whole thing falls apart at the seams. Honestly, if you aren't willing to put in the effort, why even bother showing up? It's a question I find myself asking more and more often these days. That band’s styling is absolutely lethal—and not in a good way. It’s practically an insult to anyone actually trying to make music. The lead singer is hovering somewhere on that bottom-tier retail level, just a notch below the guys in the Kaiser Chiefs. Honestly, if they spent less time posing and more time actually making some noise, they might stand a chance. Lale described them as the perfect "background music" for when you're just grabbing a beer at the bar and hanging out, but let me tell you—they aren't exactly the kind of act you'd want to be caught front and center for in a mosh pit. 😁 WCIF Their performance was absolutely pathetic—honestly, it was a total disaster from start to finish. 😲Honestly, looking at it from a purely technical standpoint—the musicianship, the sheer raw energy—that was easily their most "no-nonsense" performance to date. They were tight, incredibly precise, and just absolutely relentless; sweaty, loud, and powerful. My only minor gripe would be that unmiked crash cymbal, which left the overall sound feeling slightly incomplete, but everything else? Holy shit. They were the only band in the room that actually walked off stage hearing "one more song!" from the crowd. 👍 Bilodobro. Nero Burns It wasn't exactly a powerhouse start to the set—more like they found their footing halfway through—but you could definitely see the crowd thinning out while they were on stage. A fair amount of people seemed to be heading for the exits, mostly because they’d already caught them live before (some had even seen them twice). Still, the energy held up enough to enjoy the support from Mr. Hellsonic right up in the front row, along with a few of the more disheveled regulars hanging around the forum scene. Marshall and The Brainsuckers Look, visually speaking, you’d almost think someone from Straitjackets had been hanging out with Sunn O)). But they aren't. It feels way too much like a throwback to the seventies—and if you ask Dinko, he'll tell you straight up that they're just too flat. And then there's those heavy-handed production choices... I mean, what was the point of all that over-processing? 😕 It’ll be better.
Just a bunch of visibly intoxicated blowhards. 👍 🤣
