If you look back at my previous post... I clearly stated that I've already applied the settings and shared my results, even if they were a bit confusing at first. 😁

Michael Chavez said:I have a few beginner questions here—I would really appreciate some help from you all: 😁
Well, I did a bit of digging around and ended up stumbling upon some blank pages where I tried to jot down the basics:
1. npr. 166MHz x 2
Is 166 the FBI multiplier, and is 2 the multiplier? Is that correct?
What exactly constitutes a repository, anyway?
What exactly constitutes latency?
When discussing memory overclocking, we are specifically referring to the RAM, correct?
I have an Intel Core Duo T2450 2.00GHz processor... how can I find out what my multiplier is and what the FBI is set to?
I've been poking around my BIOS, but I can't seem to find any settings for adjusting the FBI... Is there some kind of secret key combination I'm missing, or what? 😁
Thank you in advance.

vividcobra25 said:Hey, what’s the temperature threshold for the processor?
Raymond Hernandez14 said:Jimmy, man, seriously, props to you... where on earth did you even find this page? 😁😁😁
Everything looks fantastic, truly top-notch! 👏👏🙂

260 x 11 = 2866.50 and HT link 781.8; RAM is at CPU/7 = 409.7 with 5-5-5-15 2T... none of the temperatures even hit 50°C, and the stock fan stays at 2600 RPM after running Orthus for several hours...
Idle temperatures sit around 35-37°C, with the fan spinning at 1200 RPM.
So, that’s about it... all my other attempts just ended in a reboot. Of course, I haven't touched the voltages and don't plan to because there's no need... I simply wanted to see how far I could push it.
Ultimately, once you figure out what's actually going on, a simple overclock isn't a problem—you just have to know what you're doing.
I tried setting the memory to 533, but then it became even slower despite unchanged latencies; if I try to set it to 800, the motherboard refuses and forces itself back into safe mode... My tinkering with the latencies—trying to adjust them manually—ended abruptly... you know how it goes... by pulling the battery out of the board. My limited knowledge of overclocking wasn't quite enough for that entire page of various parameters, and I managed to mess something up... so I'm stepping away from that.
By the way, I dug through this F4 BIOS thoroughly, and I couldn't find anywhere else where MIH could adjust the memory divider except via the memory speed itself...
The lesson learned here is that I immediately went ahead today and fired up a second machine, a GA M68M-S2 with dual 4000+ processors and 4x1GB Kingmax 800, just for fun... so I guess I learned something. That said, this board has significantly fewer overclocking options than the S3H.
I am satisfied with this overclock; it's an improvement of over 30%. For comparison, the Vista Experience Index (which I know doesn't mean much) gives me a processor score of 5.5 and memory at 5.5, whereas the exact same Vista setup on the 4000+ at stock settings shows 4.8 for the processor and 5.0 for memory (!)—and when I lightly overclock that one, it hits 5.0 for the processor....
Interestingly, if it's operating under consistent criteria, it suggests that 32-bit Vista doesn't care much for dual-core processors and prefers higher core speeds instead.
Generally speaking, my verdict on the S3H board with the F4 BIOS is that it is so well-designed that you can't mess with it even if you want to... the moment you tweak something it doesn't like, it immediately enters safe mode. It's a job well done...
BTW, the processor costs $90...
