I get it, felt a bit forced to me a few times too... even if the songs are solid, especially those Straits in the intro

I was expecting some kind of gripping story, but honestly? Just a total snooze fest.
It’s basically a retro postcard for people who live for beige office decor and small talk that goes absolutely nowhere.
Surface-level stuff. Painfully shallow.

See, I actually had the exact opposite experience. I went in fully expecting to be bored, but I ended up being pleasantly surprised—those two hours honestly flew by.

For me, the standout moment has to be when Affleck pulls up in that Porsche while A. Parsons - Sirius is playing in the background. 👍

I'll concede that the soundtrack felt a bit forced at times, but there were definitely certain scenes where it just worked perfectly.

Definitely worth a watch for me— 7/10

It is a solid drama. While it might not be a visceral gut-punch, it certainly holds more weight than the majority of the trash being pumped out in Hollywood these days.

Pretty well done. I’ve always had a soft spot for business dramas. This one and Tetris are definitely worth a watch.

My wife and I both enjoyed it. Honestly, I already knew part of the story beforehand, but it was still nice to see all the pieces come together...

The cast was top-tier, and the soundtrack really hit the right notes for me. I honestly don't get why everyone's complaining about it.

Really solid feel-good movie. Just pure relaxation without any political lecturing thrown in. In this day and age, that’s more than enough for me.

Anyone else here actually lived through the 80s? It’s such a sharp, heavy dose of nostalgia for me and my wife... honestly. This kind of movie feels like a total outlier compared to the junk they churn out these days. Definitely worth a watch if you have the time....

Exactly. There's an authenticity there, really driven home by the soundtrack. Honestly, it was the best decade we ever had, and I've always had a soft spot for sports dramas. As for the cast? Well, they're good enough. For me, it's a high rating for Air...

Exactly. You could just make a movie set in the eighties right now—something decent, a solid production—and it would be a hit. People are obsessed with the eighties. It’s not rocket science.

Watching this film has triggered a profound sense of nostalgia for me, much like it has for many of you. I haven't actually finished it yet; I paused during the scene where they present the sneakers to Michael Jordan and that particular speech by Sony, which I found somewhat jarring due to the insertion of those futuristic images. Furthermore, the rhetoric in that speech feels overly "prophetic," which leads me to doubt its authenticity. And I must ask, what was the intended purpose behind obscuring Michael Jordan's face? 🤔I intend to resume my viewing this evening.

Some people were already talking about how they hid Michael Jordan's face, claiming he’s such a huge icon that if some random actor played him, nobody would buy it. Personally, I think that's total nonsense. If we follow that logic, they could have just hidden Elvis Presley's face in all his movies too. 🤦
The whole point of cinema and acting is that you should be able to interpret a character however you want. To me, hiding his face was just distracting; you could tell they were trying way too hard, and it made the whole thing feel forced. Why couldn't they just cast a young NBA player or some other athlete? It wouldn't have hurt the movie—if anything, it would've helped.
The real Michael Jordan definitely has his fingerprints all over this one, just like in the documentary. Obviously, nothing happens without his blessing.

Personally, I think hiding the face works—it adds this layer of mystery and weirdness. It’s those kinds of stylistic choices that give a film its own unique fingerprint.

At least he went looking for a Mercedes-Benz. At least the guy has taste.

It's a great movie. I mean, I pretty much love anything involving Michael Jordan or Nike...
They totally changed the game for sports and advertising.
Honestly, when I'm wearing my Jordans, I feel different. It’s just cool having that logo on you.

Chris Messina is wonderful 😍

Mercedes-Benz? Taste?🤣

Yeah, mystery... 🤦it's basically just how women act when they're trying to hide a breakout.

I don't see why they couldn't have just cast a young basketball player or an athlete—that would have actually helped the movie.

Makes total sense to me. At the end of the day, he should be the one calling the shots for himself. 😉

This film has a way of pulling me right back into my childhood, much like it has for many of you. I haven't actually finished it yet; I paused during the scene where he presents those Nike sneakers to Michael Jordan's family, and specifically during that Sony speech where the inclusion of those futuristic images felt jarring. The entire address carries a somewhat "prophetic" tone that strikes me as highly questionable in terms of its authenticity. Furthermore, I find myself wondering about the significance of masking Michael Jordan's face. I intend to resume viewing later this evening.

They could have easily cast any one of a hundred talented young Black actors in that role, making the decision to use him feel entirely unnecessary. In my estimation, that remains a significant flaw in the production.

The sequel was an utter disappointment and a struggle to sit through. All things considered, the entire experience was mediocre at best.

Personally, I found the film to be quite exceptional. As a lifelong devotee of Michael Jordan, I truly savored every moment of the experience, even though I was already well aware of the underlying tension involving his relationship with Nike...

I don't know, I feel like this movie is just way too linear. It’s almost like watching a documentary because there aren't any actual plot twists to keep you on your toes.
It's kind of like if someone filmed Titanic but just left out the whole romance between Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.
Honestly, I think they could have easily trimmed this down to maybe 60 or 75 minutes max and it still would've worked fine.
