HP DeskJet Plus 4120 (though the HP app keeps calling it a 4100)
So, I picked up a used printer recently—got the drivers installed, set up the HP app, registered everything, you know the drill—but now I'm stuck. It keeps throwing an error at me saying "Use setup cartridges." Naturally, I can't print a single thing.
The previous owner already used up the original setup ink—there was still some black left in there, and the color cartridges have already been swapped out once. I went ahead and bought genuine HP ink, but since they aren't those specific "setup" cartridges, the printer won't cooperate. Since I can't log in with the original owner's account to get the device recognized, how am I supposed to bypass this and actually make the printer mine? Am I really stuck having to hunt down setup cartridges somewhere? And if I am, where do people even find those?
