Dealing with allergic asthma for 4 years now.
That's actually 38 years total! I did allergy shots for about 10 years back in the day and things finally leveled out...

But then about 7 years ago, I had to stay in this house that was pretty run-down, and my asthma just came roaring back... It mostly hits me when I'm trying to sleep because something near my bed keeps irritating my lungs. I ended up discovering black cumin oil and it’s been a lifesaver. Anyone else found something that works?

But about 7 years ago, I had to stay in this poorly maintained house and my asthma came roaring back. It mostly hits me when I’m trying to sleep because something near my bed irritates my lungs. I started using black cumin oil and it’s been a lifesaver. What about you guys?

I hope you’re on a treatment plan that keeps it under control.
Regarding your living situation—getting rid of curtains, carpets, or rugs might help. Anything that traps dust is a nightmare for people with asthma. You might even need a new mattress.
How exactly does it irritate your lungs?
Are you coughing more, struggling to breathe, or hearing that wheezing sound? Or is an allergy spray enough to settle it down?

Coughing my head off right after I wake up, hacking up all this mucus, then my body finally resets. Then I'm basically choking for a bit once I step outside. People probably assume I had COVID-19. 🥴 My lungs make this whistling sound if I try to take a deep breath.

I actually did have it recently, luckily I pulled through okay considering what it does to your lungs. This black coffee of mine was a lifesaver though—it honestly feels like it gives you a second set of lungs... the real issue is when I lie down because I don't have any symptoms during the day. What might be nothing to someone else hits me like a freight train... and man, since I was 4 years old, everything was fine until about 7 years ago.

Yeah, I actually had it recently. Honestly, I got lucky considering the damage it does to your lungs. This one supplement has been my lifesaver—it feels like it gives you a second set of lungs. The real issue is when I lie down, because during the day, I feel fine. What might be nothing to someone else hits me like a freight train. It’s been like this since I was four, though everything was totally fine until about seven years ago.

What kind of treatment are you on?

I know exactly what you're going through, but the most important thing is whether your treatment is actually tailored to you.

I get what you mean, but honestly, the big thing is whether you actually have a treatment plan that works for you.

Not on anything yet. I tried black cumin oil, and for a little while, it really kept my cough under control for almost a full day, but now it’s totally wrecking my stomach... just sending me running to the bathroom. I'm seeing my doctor soon though, so I'll ask about starting some actual meds.

That means it’s been part of my life for 38 years now! I actually spent about a decade going through allergy shots to desensitize my system, which seemed to get everything under control for a while...

But then, about seven years ago, I ended up staying in a house that wasn't kept up very well, and my asthma came roaring back. It mostly hits me right when I’m trying to settle in for the night because there’s something near my bed that really irritates my lungs. I eventually discovered that black cumin oil has been a total lifesaver for me. Has anyone else found something that works?

I just use my Foster inhaler twice a day and seem to be doing fine. Honestly, I’d suggest getting a full checkup—maybe head over to a major hospital in a small town, USA, for a spirometry test and some allergy testing. Once you have those results, they can hook you up with a treatment plan that actually fits your needs.

I’ve been using Alvesc for years now. Depending on how my asthma is acting up, I decide whether I need just one puff a day or if I should step it up to two.
Since it’s been four whole years since my last checkup, shouldn't I schedule a spirometry test and see a pulmonologist sometime next year?

Asthma is a chronic thing. If you find the right treatment, you can live pretty much symptom-free, but if you don't, things can get serious fast.

My routine is Spiriva Respimat twice a day. Sometimes I mess up and only take it once, but I also decide for myself if I need an extra dose occasionally.
I use Spiriva Respimat once daily too. It keeps everything totally under control and I don't have any issues.
I developed asthma as an adult, which is always a bit more complicated to manage.

Kim's oil might help as a supplement alongside your meds, but relying on it alone is a bad move.

Good luck and breathe easy. 👍

Developed asthma as an adult—currently using Spiriva Respimat twice daily, plus Nasonex and Nixar for my allergies.

Just placed a trial order for some supplements from iHerb:
(Based on some forum recommendations, thanks Warko):

NAC -N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC)—supposedly good for the lungs and helping with asthma by clearing out mucus... we'll see :fingers crossed:

Zinc Balance

Ascorbyl Palmitate -Vitamin C
