Why on earth would anyone ask for a permanent ban? It makes zero sense. Why not just log off and come back whenever you actually feel like being online again?

"Why don't you just hop on that damn train to retirement and return when you can or want to?"...

These "issues" regarding ban appeals or permanent bans could probably be solved by a megathread in the 'congratulations and greetings' subforum.

There, someone who doesn't want to—or can't—participate for a while could simply notify their forum "inner circle":

Commenting on a thread like that would be penalized, obviously. Likewise, opening threads for ban appeals here in the 'General Discussion' subforum would also be penalized.

What about a thread where users could openly, without fear of sanctions, say exactly what they think about the moderation team? That would be an interesting topic. But naturally, a thread like that will never see the light of day on this forum, given how thick the hypocrisy is around here.

Don't expect an immediate reaction.

First, they get a 45-point red card.

If they post that again, they're banned for a month...

Once they return, if they pull the same stunt again,
then it's a year-long ban.🤷(and so on.)

Some guy requested a year-long ban, actually got it, and then spent the next week begging to be unbanned within seven days. And honestly? He wasn't even the only one acting like that.

Nice will probably weigh in on this ban eventually, but until then...

I’m stepping away because being active on this forum is taking up way too much of my time... time I really need to spend tackling some real-life issues right now. My life is a bit of a mess at the moment... and believe me, I’d much rather be hanging out here with you all every single day. But since I don't have the self-control to just moderate my own usage🙂... this is the only way I can manage🙂

So, dear Ludacris/Latto, I'm asking for what I originally requested: a one-year ban, and then hopefully we'll cross paths again soon.
