I’m honestly dying to see this matchup just to figure out how elite Aspinall really is. He looks incredible right now, but let's be real—guys like Rozenstruik looked unstoppable too when they were basically bullying everyone in the shallow end of the Heavyweight division. But once they stepped up to face the true heavy hitters at the top, you could immediately see the gap in class. Even with Reem, where he managed to pull off a knockout after trailing until the final minute, and then just kept rolling. This is going to be Tom's moment of truth.

Yeah, he’s definitely getting hyped up. Bisping is out here pitching him as the next Heavyweight Champion, but honestly, I’m kind of digging it... He reminds me a bit of Ngannou—just a breath of fresh air for the division.

Volkov doesn't really "deserve" being relegated to gatekeeper status, even if a title shot feels like a pipe dream at this point. After that lapse in judgment where he let Lewis catch him, things went south fast, and then having Blaydes grind him down just sealed the deal. Missed the boat. I’ve got Aspinall going by decision, mostly because I have zero clue how he handles getting hit or how his gas tank looks in the third round and beyond. I'm not betting on a KO; Volkov is notoriously hard to drop, and after watching Aspinall go against Arlovski yesterday, seeing him dump that whole boxing flurry on old Andrew without getting the finish... it's a fascinating matchup.

Volkov’s got the size advantage and those longer reaches, so he could really give him a hard time with his straight punches while the other guy tries to close the gap. Plus, Volkov’s jab is actually pretty solid. Honestly, I’m not even sure what to make of this matchup yet; one guy's coming off fights against absolute scrubs while Arlovski is waiting in the wings, so if he pulls this off, it’ll be a massive leap forward for his career.

Tom Aspinall is the real deal. He’s a solid, humble guy who’s always been vocal about taking the long, calculated road to the top. A lot of people back home say his grappling is elite, and honestly, that might be the only way to handle Alexander Volkov since almost nobody can actually trade strikes with him. I’m pulling for Tom Aspinall for both of those reasons—he’s a great guy and the HW division is seriously begging for some fresh blood—but honestly, I don't see him as the favorite here. Volkov might not want to be labeled a gatekeeper, but right now, he’s looking exactly like the guy standing in the way of everyone at the top of the division.

The UFC main card kicks off tonight at 9 PM, and honestly, the prelims have some killer matchups too—you've got Shore, Craig, and Kirilov all fighting. Don't get too distracted by whatever's on TV or you're gonna miss the start. 😁

Maybe they should just award the main event win by default if we all fall asleep before 🙂

Alright, following brisktrucker51's suggestion and looking at how we handled Covington - Masvidal, we’re going to do live scoring for the main event (that's Aspinall - Volkov). We’ll be using the standard 10-9 system for the rounds—no draws allowed unless the ref pulls a wild card and hands out a point deduction. You can submit your round scores anytime from the moment a round ends until the next one kicks off. If at least three of us end up scoring all the completed rounds, we’ll tally everything up for a final total score at the end.

Ilia Topuria barely made it through that first round against a guy who had a massive size advantage. He took some heavy shots that definitely rattled him, but then he just shut it down with one clean strike in the second. Honestly, you'd think they were fighting in the HW division... 🙏

The crowd in the States is just next level. Honestly, I can barely make out a word they’re saying half the time. I caught Darren Till doing a live Q&A in the arena yesterday, and man, the questions from the crowd were even harder to follow than his answers. Actually, I think Stipe is the only one in the whole UFC who struggles more with English than anyone else in the organization. But damn, the energy they bring... It's incredible. 🙏 🙏 🙏

The atmosphere was electric... absolute madness. That kid is something else, haha
