The moderation on this subforum is honestly a joke—it’s completely out of touch with what the community actually wants.

First off, they killed the "Album of the Week" thread just because it went stale—and why did it go stale? Because the mods, for God's sake, kept forgetting to launch the new threads on time. When I pointed out how ridiculous it was to let threads lapse like that, Vanchaa basically brushed me off, claiming it doesn't matter when they're posted as long as there’s some semblance of "quality in the opening."

Whatever. Fast forward to today: after a couple of negative comments were made regarding the moderation and the general direction of the music section, all my posts were wiped from the "Song of the Day" thread—along with everything from user kvart99—right after Fassgohard chimed in suggesting I should be permabanned.

So, I’m asking a direct question here: is the main music subforum reserved exclusively for a handful of users who get to act superior because they’re buddies with the mods, or is there actually any desire to keep this place alive? We have people posting via burner accounts just to bypass bans, yet the moment anyone brings up a controversial topic, their entire post history is scrubbed. Vanchaa and Puky are clearly unfit to moderate this section; they're too busy playing favorites with certain users to actually enforce any real rules—they just blow smoke for their inner circle.

If the whole point of the music subforum and its various threads is just to provide a platform for the moderator to write her little essays, then fine—just rename them "My Personal Essay on the Song of the Day." There are plenty of us older users who still want to talk about music, but we don't stand a chance. It’s pathetic that even Mr. Wrong rarely visits this subforum anymore—probably because his bluntness and expertise would earn him a ban in a heartbeat. Honestly, just make Mr. Wrong a moderator and maybe things might finally settle down. Peace.

To add to that: back when "Album of the Week" was actually working as a place to suggest rock or pop albums, a fellow user and moderator spent an entire year messing with everyone by posting nothing but "country twang" tracks. We all took it as a joke—which I assume was the intent—but the second you say something the mods don't like, everything is deleted without a trace. For nearly a year, I’ve been looking for a specific part of a PDF from those threads, and even without being under a ban, I can't find anything. So, I’ll ask again: do you want the music subforum to have actual discussants, or is it just meant to cater to the whims of the moderators and their cronies?

In the meantime, my benign posts—along with those from other users—continue to be scrubbed, simply because we aren't strictly adhering to the "ideal" guidelines the mods have envisioned for us.

Just to set the record straight on one thing: I requested a partial ban regarding the music section, and I did so entirely on my own terms. At the time of that request, I didn't have a single active strike against me on this subforum. So, when my partial ban was applied, the moderator actually had the nerve to act as if she were doing me a favor during my very first post back. It makes me wonder—why would anyone even need a partial ban on a subforum if they haven't asked for one and have zero disciplinary marks on their record?

Taylor Swift and Jimmy Buffett are completely out of their depth here. Someone else needs to breathe some life into this subforum—specifically the sections that don't involve trolling—because outside of that, the content is actually decent.

God bless you, Mandy—you’re really the only one here looking out for me, which is probably why I’ll end up getting torn apart even harder later.😁>

Before the mods even make an official announcement, I took a quick peek at what’s been getting wiped, and honestly, I see the mods cleaning up the Song Day thread by tossing out all that mindless trolling and the constant nitpicking about moderation—and I am 100% behind that decision. You had seven of your posts taken down, which was totally justified because, well, they were just silly trolling and commentary on the staff. So, since those posts are gone, there really isn't much left to debate there. As for everything else, I'm going to wait for the moderators to weigh in, and if necessary, I'll take a closer look at how things are being handled.

Now, looking at the big picture, it’s pretty standard for certain threads to lose steam and eventually get closed out. That doesn't mean they weren't lively and fun back in the day, or that they don't still hold value. If anything, part of their charm is precisely that they belong to the past. But one of the funny things about history is how often it repeats itself; even the coolest threads that seem dead right now might find a way to come back to life someday.

And yeah, when it comes to this forum, the way a thread is launched really matters because the opening post often sets the tone for its entire lifespan. It's much better for a topic to be a little late than to be started off on the wrong foot. Besides, if someone actually wants to write, they’re going to write regardless of whether the thread opens on a Wednesday or a Friday.

I honestly don't get why they go deleting posts just because people aren't feeling them. On the flip side, once some troll swoops in on a controversial thread, they have no choice but to wipe it clean or hand out bans. Then you've got Lisa Davis46, who seems totally clueless about what's actually going down, inviting someone into a debate and then acting completely shocked when the whole thing goes south. 🙄 Same deal with how they let insults slide, too. Like, I saw someone straight up tell another user they were being a total nightmare to deal with on a thread, and nobody even blinked.

First off, I’d suggest we open a sub-forum specifically for threads where users can appeal moderator decisions regarding certain members, because dealing with the same handful of people is always a headache. ☕

@brightwolf48/">@@brightwolf48, posting about opening new threads right inside the Song Day thread isn't helping—it's just straight-up off-topic. If you’d mentioned it in the chat, I wouldn't have said anything. It's the same deal with our local neighborhood legend who won't say a word unless we're talking about the eighties. And hey, that's fine! Everyone has their niche... but I shouldn't have to justify deleting mindless posts that have absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand.

We take suggestions seriously when they actually make sense, but you two have teamed up to become incredibly incoherent lately. Believe me, I’d love for things to work exactly how you imagine them, but unfortunately, that doesn't really align with reality. Plus, you don't even offer a real suggestion beyond "this sucks, this is bad, mods are terrible, blah blah blah."

The Album of the Week has lost its spark because everyone started obsessing over making suggestions instead of actually discussing the music. Sure, it’s a pain when threads take weeks to pop up—especially since we set this frantic pace ourselves—but there's nothing I can do about that. Just remember, some of us work full-time jobs and do this entirely in our spare time. We're constantly brainstorming how to get the engagement back up, but for now, we just wanted to pivot to something else... something other than the endless debates between ultra-conservatives and socialists that spiked the views during that Route 11 album release.

And in this case, it’s pretty simple—like focusing on a single song, which takes way less time than sitting through an entire LP. Suggestions are welcome there, though we won't be doing the classic polls.

With the new thread, we were aiming for something fresh because the whole album format just wasn't clicking anymore. You started writing something about Bruce, keep going! Even when a pro asks for your take on something, that's exactly the kind of discussion we want to see.

Also, just a reminder: we voluntarily removed those restrictions at your request, only for you to weaponize them to attack members you personally don't like. Try writing two coherent, on-topic sentences about Music (if that's not too much to ask!) and then come tell me what's wrong with the site.

Sandra Clark88 said:I don't get the post deletions just because someone doesn't like them either. On the flip side, a troll flies into a controversial thread and if they don't delete or ban them, Lisa Davis—who seems totally oblivious to the chaos—invites the guy to a debate and then acts shocked when the whole thread falls apart. 🙄 And from what I can see, insults aren't being deleted or flagged either; I saw someone call another person a total psycho on a thread and nobody even blinked.

There’s a little report button for posts, you know. I haven't noticed you using it much. Please, don't make it difficult—we can't monitor every single comma. A couple of clicks goes a long way...

Forgive me, but this level of arrogance is utterly rude and completely inappropriate.
My dear, proud colleague didn't earn that section; he requested its removal because he was dissatisfied with how this subforum was being run.
This is the very same subforum where you tolerate Sheva Mirogojcek, a man who constantly spouts the same mindless nonsense and acts like he knows music when he actually couldn't tell a melody from a broken string, much like Mara.
Personally, I couldn't care less about Sheva, but if he’s truly your precious darling, then have some backbone and strip his permissions already. As it stands, everyone can see that you aren't following your own rules, acting just as stubborn and self-serving as Andrej Plenković—you were all incredibly lenient toward brightwolf48, and frankly, it's pathetic.☕

Just because he asked for it doesn't mean we had to let him back in. And when he talks about the "functioning of the forum," he's really just talking about two specific threads we tried to get moving. It's not like anyone is forcing him to participate in them, and from what I can see, he isn't even showing up in other threads anyway.

I mean, honestly, it’s pretty convenient to just show up on a forum where you only lurk, just so you can go off on a rant whenever you feel like it without actually contributing anything... Just like you, acting like the forum's big moral compass—nobody actually asked for your precious opinion!

Come on, you’re still acting like some power-tripping small-town sheriff.
The constant lecturing is exhausting; it’s a matter of basic decency.
Anyone who hasn't been intoxicated by the terrifying "superpowers" of moderation wouldn't even give these nonsense issues a second thought.
And you really are a pushover—you let him back in when you didn't have to!🙏
For an old hand like me, that kind of behavior is simply unthinkable.

Because, apparently, it makes sense to just lurk in a subforum so you can act out whenever you feel like it without actually engaging. Besides, much like how you play the forum's self-appointed moral compass, nobody actually asked for your precious opinion.

If you're implying that I'm just a lurker, then you've completely lost the plot.
Just because I don't write academic treatises on songs or artists certainly doesn't mean I haven't engaged.
In fact, I've said plenty of times that neither you nor the mass of nobodies here actually know a damn thing about music.
Just think back to that time you were bragging about hitting clubs since 2005 or something like that...
🤣

Let me be blunt with you: you're only a moderator because almost no one competent is willing to take the job. That's how that jerk Mark Cruz15 became a mod, and how Intermezzo did too—but unlike you, those guys actually recognized their flaws and started doing their jobs effectively.
Get real, man.

And stop being such a coward and look at my entire post!
You stay silent about Sheva, don't you? You probably don't know what to say, and you're banking on everyone having the memory of a goldfish.
Well, newsflash—some of us actually remember.
If we aren't going to talk like adults, this whole discussion is pointless.

And for the record, I don't particularly hate you, especially considering who you succeeded in this role. But this kind of cowardly behavior isn't worthy of a moderator.

bluecyclist64 I guess it’s like... what was that thing someone said? Anyway, I was just thinking about how everything seems to be shifting lately, you know? It feels like we're all just sort of drifting through these changes, and maybe that's okay, I suppose. I don't know, it's hard to put my finger on it exactly, but there's this sense that things aren't quite what they used to be, which is kind of heavy when you really sit down and dwell on it for too long. But yeah, I guess that's just how it goes sometimes.
I mean, I don't know how you can even stand listening to Sheva Mirogojcek, especially since he just keeps posting the same mindless nonsense over and over again... honestly, his take on music is so completely off base, it’s like he’s totally clueless about what's actually good, kind of like how Mara is always way out of her league.

🤣 You know, you really have to wonder about it sometimes. It seems like people who actually understand music—you know, people like Sheva Mirogojcek—are always being targeted, just like how Galileo used to be back in his day when he was out there doing his thing. I guess it’s just because the masses tend to get bothered by anyone who's actually smart or someone they can't quite wrap their heads around or keep up with. But hey, I suppose we don't exactly see people getting burned at the stake for having an opinion anymore, which is probably a good thing, I guess... damn.
Honestly, listening to people constantly tear down Azra or Stulic is just as exhausting as pretty much everything else lately... It’s like that basic human instinct always kicks in, where everyone just wants to bend the world to their own little preferences and then act like their personal opinion is some kind of universal truth. I mean, okay, fine, but if we go down that road, shouldn't everyone have that right together? Instead, it feels like certain people get to play judge and jury, trying to manipulate files or whatever just to suit their own narrative. If that’s how it works, then we aren't even looking at a shared document anymore, it’s basically just bluecyclist64’s personal blog. We all have that same underlying urge, I guess—to spread what we think is "best"—but what happens if everyone does that? What's the end game there? Sure, maybe we don't openly admit we have that impulse, but you can totally see it in how people take their stances. My whole point, really, is just that we should probably try to tolerate each other a bit more. That's my takeaway, anyway.

I mean, seriously, how did the Song Day thread even end up turning into this? It’s kind of wild if you think about it, I guess.

There’s just a whole bunch of stuff going on here, and honestly, besides the obvious personal grudge people seem to have against my expertise, there's a ton of other issues at play that don't even have anything to do with me.
I think I’m gonna step back from the Song Day thread for a little while because, honestly, I just don't really get the point of it all yet. You guys go ahead and have fun, though. If I had one tiny gripe, it's just that it feels a bit off that we aren't actually voting on the Song Day pick like we used to do for the Album of the Week thing—it feels kind of weird that people are just tossing out suggestions instead of having an actual vote. It's just not really my vibe, I guess. But hey, everything is fine, really.

I mean, personally, I haven't really seen any actual suggestions on what we should even do with that PDF, other than everyone just kind of tearing it to shreds and talking trash about it.

So, regarding the mods, I guess you can actually reach out to them directly to ask about getting pardoned if you got caught up in that PDF situation, provided you’re willing to follow some of the newer guidelines they've put out. There are plenty of cases where people with permanent bans have actually been cleared, so it's definitely an option. As for my own posts—you know, the long, rambling ones I usually go all out on—you haven't seen much of those lately. It's mostly because we had this little agreement where I'd keep things on a short leash, I suppose. I just didn't want to drown everyone else out with my constant tangents and my whole specific personality, you know? Just trying to give everyone some breathing room.
Look, I get it, really. My take is that it just feels like the mods are all super young, and when you've got people like us who have been obsessing over music for, like, thirty years, it’s hard not to feel a bit weird about having these kids trying to lecture us on what's good or how things should work. That's basically why you and the others are reacting the way you are, I think. Personally, I can probably just shrug it off because of where I stand on the forum, but I totally get why it rubs some people the wrong way.
So, I was just thinking, like, who should actually be the moderator here? I mean, looking at the current lineup, does it even make sense to just add someone else to the mix? Maybe we need someone older, you know, someone who’s been around the block and has like decades of experience in the music scene. But—and this is a big but—it shouldn't be one of those people where if you dare to criticize Stulic, they immediately go on a total tear against you. That's just not it. We really need someone who's a bit more open-minded, I guess. Just someone who can actually handle a different opinion without making it a whole thing.

I mean, look, I’m really not in any position to be telling anyone how things ought to be done, you know? That’s probably not my place at all. But honestly, it’s just kind of hard to stay quiet about it, I guess. It feels like there are really just two main things at play here:

I mean, on one hand, you've got the mods trying to keep things from turning into a complete circus, I guess... they really don't want everything descending into total chaos or just becoming this giant, disorganized mess where nobody can actually follow what's going on. It’s like, if the threads just turn into one big, endless chat room, then all the actual point of having specific topics just kind of disappears, you know? Maybe they're just trying to prevent the whole place from losing its sense of purpose.
I guess I find it pretty irritating when people start deleting posts. It really gets to me, too, because you end up feeling like someone’s just slapped their hand over your mouth to stop you from speaking your mind. And honestly, when that happens and it's coming from someone who's, what, twenty years younger than you... it kind of just kills any desire to even bother writing stuff down. It makes things tough. Since I'm already in my forties, I've gotten used to how things work in the real world—like, if I'm talking about music with people, they actually listen and take it in, you know? I'm not exactly used to being shut down or silenced like that. But then again, maybe the younger crowd just has this massive ego—I don't know, some of these other users on here—it feels like this sort of teenage delusion where they think they're experts on everything when they really aren't. So I guess that's where the friction comes from. The kids don't really want to learn anything new; they just act like they already know it all.
I mean, I guess once you get a few people in the room who have basically lived their entire lives inside the music industry, things just start getting complicated, you know? It’s like, as soon as those personalities show up, all the drama and the messiness just follows them right in.
I guess the only real way through this is to just stop attacking one another, you know? Like, neither I nor bluecyclist64 or anyone else should be going after them, and they really shouldn't be coming at me either—it just feels like nobody should be targeting anybody at this point. Just write out whatever you know or whatever you're thinking, and then let the people reading decide for themselves who actually matters and who’s just making noise. It's probably better that way, I suppose.
Whenever someone starts whining about how another person is bothering them, it immediately feels suspicious to me, like it’s smelling a bit too much like a mob mentality situation. And we all know from history class what happens when crowds get like that—they just want to take down whoever stands out from the pack.
Honestly, everyone should just write whatever they feel. Peace out. If you really want to sit around and talk trash with Stulic, then go ahead. Lately, you haven't even heard me saying anything regarding Stulic.
3. Again, I can't really judge because I totally get the feeling, but some people use their profile pages just to push their own agenda, you know, like trying to psychologically influence the rest of us on the Album of the Week, in the exact same way Lisa Davis does it so confidently? 😁 Well, Lisa Davis isn't going to listen to me or anyone else about what kind of music she "should" be listening to based on her vibe. She has this whole attitude that she’s the authority. That petty forum user is the same way... I mean, I can have my own opinion on how much they actually know, but man, bluecyclist64, please understand, those profiles just turn into a contest over who’s the bigger expert and whose taste is superior. Lisa Davis will stick to her guns, I'll stick to mine, brightwolf48 will do his thing, you'll do yours, and so on... and honestly, that's the only way it works. I guess I just recognize that feeling we older folks get when some younger person comes along (based on a few things, we've talked before, and that petty girl got under my skin) acting like a total pro, even though we've been into music for over 30 years and can see all their flaws. It just makes me lose my cool. 😁 But I suppose you can't force them to learn if they don't want to or if they just don't see it that way...

And about the Song Day thing... aside from all the bashing, everything else seems fine, but maybe let's hear some actual suggestions. I'll go first: I personally don't love that I can't make decisions or cast votes. And I'd probably love to be part of the jury if I decided to participate. Back in the day, I used to have tons of people coming over to my place throughout the decades to learn about bands, so that's kind of the status I have with them. I'm not really used to people playing music for me out in the open or people judging my taste and stuff... but hey, I'm not the boss of this forum. Still, you can't just strip subjectivity away from music; we aren't all wired the same way, we don't all have the same brains. Music is part of our psyche, it's art and it's fun, but it's definitely not a hard science. There's so much subjectivity involved, so I guess it might irritate some people when something wins the Album of the Week. I've definitely wondered myself why certain things won that felt completely opposite to my own logic. Those differences can be annoying for everyone sometimes. But a forum shouldn't just be one person's monologue.
I'm not sure how to set something up without forcing one person's taste on everyone else. But then again, if we all consider ourselves experts, how are you even supposed to coordinate that?

I just want to say that with all the criticisms I mentioned, or what brightwolf48 said, it's probably not easy for the moderators either. Music is such a deeply personal thing that people tie their whole identity to, so that's how they react to it. But there has to be room for everyone!

If something isn't working, just be specific about what's wrong. I get that brightwolf48 isn't happy. Just say clearly and publicly what needs to change and how. Maybe then everything could be smoothed out.

Just because I'm not out here writing PhD dissertations on every single song or artist doesn't mean I'm not actually paying attention...

Look, I’m talking about being active on this board, but whenever you feel like it, you're suddenly an expert on Music Forum just to go after people defending the establishment—like that whole mess with Route 11.

Most of your posts are just "this is great" or "this sucks," and then it turns into a lecture about how you used to play guitar in some third-rate blues rock band thirty years ago... which, by the way, was zero percent more original than Thompson... so you think you're smarter than the rest of us? Well, honestly, we just don't get it...

I don't know, but in my book, claiming you're an expert isn't proof of anything. Someone else should be saying it, and I'm definitely not seeing that happening with you.

True, your posts don't need to be art history lectures—hardly anyone else does that either—but it's just that you rarely show up without starting a fight. Though, hey, I just saw you write something surprisingly coherent and chill about The Doors, so maybe there's hope for you yet! If you could keep writing like that, life would be a lot easier. Just stay on topic and stop picking on everyone else. See? It's not that hard...

And quit being such a sore loser and actually address my whole post!

Sure thing! I'll do that the exact second you stop tucking your tail and walking away from a debate every single time you realize you were wrong... you know, acting like a total coward, just like you're accusing me of doing right now.

Besides, I don't owe you an answer to everything you say, especially if you're operating on some higher level of agreement than I am. As for Sheva, I already told you he's just typing while sitting by his handbrake and his posts aren't even that big of a deal anymore. And it is absolutely hilarious to have someone lecturing me about following the rules when you are the literal definition of someone who breaks them!

I want to throw out a quick shout-out to Steven Newman50 and Lisa Davis46, just for the sheer amount of effort they pour into this subforum. Honestly, I don't get why people question things like our Album of the Week or Song Day features. A while back, Pangloss and Silvery ran something similar, and if you ask me, the music section is probably the best part of this entire site because of stuff like this. You rarely see this kind of engagement anywhere else. It feels like the mods have decided their only job is handing out bans rather than actually contributing to the community. They have all these tools—editing rights, administrative powers—that could be used to host these little interactive games and polls that the rest of us can't pull off due to technical limits. I think a lot of people overlook how much time and work goes into this, work that most users aren't even required to do.

As for all the bickering going on elsewhere, I’m not looking to pick sides or get dragged into the fray, but man, it’s wild to me how much fighting breaks out over something that should be lighthearted fun. I get it—politics is high-tension. But when it comes to music? It really shouldn't be this serious. Everyone has different tastes, and if people showed just a little more grace, there would be way less blood on the dance floor

rustydrifter10 weighed in, but nothing has changed—the status quo remains perfectly intact. I don't have any issue with that; everything is crystal clear. However, I do have one question for rustydrifter10: in post number 34 of the Song Day thread, she writes "there are bloodthirsty hyenas everywhere, always." Given that, in this specific context, this clearly refers to me, I find this entire thread pretty much pointless. It really just highlights the attitude the moderators hold toward any user who dares to ask a single question about how they run things.

Considering that kind of attitude—and those specific words directed at me—it’s obvious I’m not welcome there. I'll take the hint and behave accordingly by staying away from that section of the forum.

Look, we’re all animals here. Everyone gets to choose which grocery chain they want to shop at, and I just made my choice pretty clear regarding what kind of community I'm willing to moderate—and it isn't this. 🙂

My comment wasn't just aimed at you personally. It was a response to the previous post and applies to anyone who feels the need to barge in and trash the space where we're actually putting in the work to get a discussion off the ground. Seriously, it hasn't even been three days and you're already picking fights with everyone (mostly with me, though I guess you probably know why, even if I don't).

Whatever your motives are, honestly, I couldn't care less. I really don't give a damn about whatever you're struggling with in life, but maybe try handling it somewhere else—somewhere appropriate. You know perfectly well there are plenty of other subforums for that kind of thing. Peace out! 🥳

Of course it isn't, but you have to earn your way into an opportunity.
If I had been running clone accounts just to tear people apart on this forum, there’s no way anyone would have given me a pass.

Personally, I find Cher to be quite charming, if I do say so myself.

Take him home already. Even from the window of an airplane, it’s painfully obvious what you two are up to. The concept of "soul mates" has always struck me as one of those romanticized illusions we cling to when the reality of human connection feels too heavy to bear. We’ve been fed this narrative since childhood—that there is one singular, perfect individual out there, a cosmic match designed specifically to fit our jagged edges. It’s a comforting thought, I suppose. It suggests that the messy, exhausting work of building a life with someone isn't actually about compromise, but about finding a pre-ordained puzzle piece. I remember sitting in a small coffee shop back in Seattle years ago, watching an elderly couple share a pastry. They weren't gazing into each other's eyes with the feverish intensity you see in movies; they were just... existing together. There was a quiet, weathered comfort in the way they moved around each other, a synchronized rhythm born from decades of navigating storms and sunny days alike. To me, that looked much more profound than any Hollywood idea of a "destined" encounter. In my experience, what people call soul mates is usually just the result of immense, intentional effort. You don't stumble upon perfection; you build it. You take two flawed, complicated individuals and, through sheer persistence and shared values, you forge a bond that feels as though it was always meant to be. It isn't magic. It's labor. It's choosing the same person every single morning, even on the days when they are being difficult or when the spark feels dim. To believe in a predestined partner is to outsource your own agency to fate. It implies that if things fail, it wasn't because of a lack of work, but simply because "it wasn't meant to be." That’s a convenient way to avoid accountability, but it’s a hollow way to live. Real intimacy isn't found by searching for a miracle; it's cultivated through the slow, steady process of truly knowing someone—and letting them know you....😒

Steven Newman50 said:I’m talking about my involvement with the local community projects, but when you want, you only seem to show up on the Music Forum just to go after the apologists for that collaborator regime—much like how you handled that whole mess regarding Route 1.

And why on earth should I care about Veseljko’s opinion when I’ve been nothing but helpful to you? Look, I’m not writing this for your sake, and frankly, you don't have the authority to dictate exactly what your students should be turning in for their assignments.

The quality of the other posts on this board is hit or miss at best. Some are decent, while others are frankly quite poor.

What exactly is the issue here? I am more than willing to sit down and perform a deep dive—analyzing the harmonies, the rhythmic structures, the genres, even breaking it down bar by bar if that’s what it takes.

While everyone else is busy circling back to the fact that you used to play guitar in some third-rate blues rock band thirty years ago—a group that was, frankly, about as original as anything Thompson could ever produce—you seem to believe that makes you inherently wiser than the rest of us. It’s an interesting perspective, though I must admit, we’re all having a bit of a hard time following your logic.

A third-rate blues rock band? Honestly, where on earth did you dig that up? I find the sheer degradation of calling them anything other than a complete joke—especially when they can’t even manage a coherent two-act structure—to be quite frankly exhausting. Wasn't labeling them a second-rate outfit insulting enough for you?
To claim that I am somehow more original than Tyson is a level of delusion only someone with an intellect significantly lower than a primate suffering from meningitis could possibly entertain.🥱

I’ve never quite understood the appeal of self-promotion. To my mind, shouting your own accomplishments from the rooftops isn't actually proof of talent or expertise; if anything, it feels a bit desperate. Real success carries its own weight—it should be recognized by others, not just proclaimed by the person doing the work. In your case, I don't see anyone else stepping up to validate those claims, which leaves me feeling rather skeptical.

I don't feel the slightest bit of pressure to explain myself to anyone. I’ll state my piece, and if people want to take it at face value, fine—but if they choose not to, that's their prerogative. I'm not interested in chasing validation.

Look, I’m not saying your posts need to be art history lectures—most people here don't write like that anyway. It’s just that you rarely show up without starting a fight. Now, seeing as you actually managed to write something coherent and non-aggressive about The Doors, I suppose there might be some substance to you after all. If you keep writing like this, I guess I can live with you. At least you're staying on topic and not dragging everyone else into your mess. See? It isn't that hard.

I get combative when someone starts talking nonsense, especially when they tear down musicians without any actual basis. It happens sparingly, and usually only when mediocre hacks are being treated like icons.

Sure, I’ll do that the very second you stop tucking your tail and walking away from an argument every single time it turns out you were wrong. You act like a total coward, which is ironic considering you're accusing me of being one.

That was pretty low and cowardly of you.
Where exactly did I "tuck my tail"? Go ahead, drop the links.
Don't be like that guy over at Lemonade who claimed I was just venting my own frustrations; prove that ridiculous claim.

For the record, I don't owe you an answer to everything you say, especially if we're talking about an agreement that's way above my pay grade. As for Cher, I already told you they've been posting more casually lately, so their posts aren't even that much of an issue anymore. And honestly, it's hilarious to see someone lecturing me about following rules when you are the literal definition of someone who ignores them.

I’d bet money that Cher will end up playing it safe, just like they always do. If they don't, then fine, good for everyone. But if they do, I refuse to be the one looking like an idiot.🥳

Look, I’ll be the one to testify here: bluecyclist64 absolutely lives for a sub-reddit flame war, and once he declares himself the winner on some other thread, he just starts tearing people apart. Honestly, he’s pulled this exact stunt on me more than a few times.
Who would even bother asking someone to go read his entire life's work in the chatroom?

Sorry for going off-topic, guys. But I have to do this here because I’m honestly shaking at the mere thought of getting into a debate with him. I'm using this safe space since the mods always swoop in the second things get heated.

I mean, I’d honestly bet money on it that Cher will end up playing live just like she always does eventually. If she doesn't, then hey, good for everyone, really. But if it actually happens—well, I don't want to be the one looking like an idiot.🥳>

🤣

1. Look, I don't know anything about the hitting stuff, even though that kid is a piece of work, but I know most people here realize you were basically gaslighting your psychiatrist because she was talking way too much to some guy. Like, out of pure fear that he'd scam her or wreck your marriage or whatever...

- Well, you kind of brought it up yourself just now. I was actually thinking about messaging you about it, but I figured I'd wait, you know? Because whenever you're acting angry on the forum or getting trolled, I can tell within seconds that something's going wrong at home, since I've known you virtually for years—I think I've been on this board since maybe 2004 or something like that. So, what did your wife do this time? 😒

I didn't really intend to write this or ask, but since you mentioned it, I guess I have to... is it even possible? 🤣
I mean, we can't exactly fix your marital issues for you, if that's what you're asking.

2. As for the second thing, listen up, everyone on the board—what kind of fear are we even talking about? Even when it comes to someone listening to Folk music.

But seriously, don't worry, I'm also trying to keep the vibes chill here in the music thread. Just a bit ago, the Master was picking on me about Springsteen in the Song of the Day thread, but I didn't bother engaging because that's how I settled things with Pussycat Dolls. Back in the day, I probably would've jumped right into an argument to set him straight. Since we're talking about starting fights and nitpicking...

Isn't that enough proof for you? See, I proved my point too.

Everything from the annoyance with the Song of the Day thread—which is why this whole massive thread opened up—really just boils down to people being unhappy about who's hanging out there, including little old me, and some frustration with the moderators.
Besides just "calling heads" on the mods, why don't you guys actually throw out some suggestions to make this music section better?

I mean, who even has the energy to ask someone to go back and read his whole life story in the chatroom?

Sorry for going off-topic, I guess. It’s just... I have to say it here because I get this weird, nervous feeling just thinking about getting into a heated debate with him, so I'm using this little corner of the forum where the mods can see everything once things inevitably turn into an insult fest.

That’s just his classic move, really. You kind of have to wrap your head around his sense of humor, though he spends half his time telling me I'm being a total clown.😁
