It’s been a minute since we’ve seen an Edgar Wright film, and honestly, this looks like a massive departure from his usual style. It’s clearly leaning hard into horror territory.

The plot follows a young woman obsessed with fashion who somehow finds herself spiraling back to 1960s New York City. There, she crosses paths with her idol—an up-and-coming singer. But turns out, 1960s New York isn't quite what it seems, and the timeline starts fracturing with some pretty lethal consequences.

Looks interesting enough to me. It hits US theaters on November 4th, and I'd guess it won't hit streaming until early next year. Even if the movie misses the mark, at least the soundtrack should be killer. ☕

I’d say this is Wright's most ambitious project yet when it comes to the visuals and soundscapes, but it’s also his least funny. It feels like he really wanted people to take this one seriously, which is tough because things get pretty campy toward the end. To be honest, it felt like a collection of bits and pieces from movies I've already seen, and the dialogue? A bit flat for my taste. What really saves it is the sheer charisma of the cast—those veteran actors are such a nice touch.
It seems like he was trying to walk this tightrope between that nostalgic 60s charm and modern feminist themes. The result is a bit of a mixed bag—pretty to look at, sure, but it didn't exactly blow me away.

I definitely caught vibes of Suspiria and Repulsion throughout—there's probably more where that came from—and it reminded me quite a bit of The Neon Demon, if I recall correctly.

The pacing was spot on, really engaging and dynamic to follow, and at times it gets quite deep and psychedelic... there are moments where it feels scary, though I wouldn't strictly label it a horror movie—it felt more like a thriller, or perhaps even better, a psychological drama..
I honestly think women might connect with this one especially, since it does such a visceral job of portraying the harsh reality of being objectified, how women can be reduced to just their bodies, the world of prostitution, and all those shallow, fake values... plus, it has some great detective-style beats and some genuinely strong plot twists.. overall, I’m more than satisfied and just really glad I ended up at the theater on a whim and caught this... 8/10👍

ps. It is a little bit kitschy, and the ending leans a bit too hard into the melodrama, almost like it's trying too hard to shock you, but that first act? The setup and the slow unfolding of the actual plot... truly great stuff!

It’s one of those rare films where feminism is actually woven in with style and done right.

For instance, I hated The Invisible Man specifically because of the forced feminism and the whole "white male is evil / woman and black man are good" trope—not to mention its other 150 flaws. Here, every character is well-drawn: imperfect, yet charismatic.

I managed to overlook the lead actress's overly wide-eyed expression and the somewhat cliché, unrealistic depiction of the sixties because the plot and storyline actually caught my interest. It is worth watching.

It is an interesting movie with great pacing. You stay engaged wondering what happens next, and for me, the twist was quite unexpected.

Total style over substance if you ask me. The music and the outfits are great. The plot starts out pretty interesting, but it gets thin fast and ends up feeling like some B-movie crime flick. It's a bummer because I think they could've squeezed more out of it. That said, most of his movies are really about the vibe anyway. He nails the atmosphere. I still enjoy watching his stuff.🍿

The starting price is honestly such a steal, it’s straightforward enough, yet you still have no real clue what’s actually going on under the hood... I mean, sure, it ends up being a little "cheaper" in the end, but it really doesn't let you down 👍

the score was solid, and the casting was spot on.

I wasn't even going to give this one a shot since it’s British—but honestly, nothing else better was hitting theaters anyway... so I checked it out and I'm glad I did. No regrets at all.

It hits exactly what the IMDb description says: drama, horror, and mystery...

The movie was a total wash—zero scares to speak of, and that "mystery" they were building was predictable from a mile away.
