Seven pages deep and the race hasn't even kicked off yet. 🙂
I remember back in the day, we wouldn't even get this much heat for full races and commentary.

Honestly, starting a thread like this is really just an excuse to check the schedule and maybe see if it's going to rain.

A four-car pileup at Turn 1: Perez, Bottas, Verstappen, and Hamilton.

Let's look at more... scenarios.

Working backward here:

Mazepin triggers the mess; his potential victims could be Latifi, Giovinazzi, Tsunoda, or Russell.

As for the front of the pack?

Perez is my first thought. His drive to win on home soil might push him toward a reckless move.
And then there's...
Sainz has enough potential to pull something ambitious.

All in all, I'd say there's a 49% chance of a collision and a 51% chance things stay clean during the opening lap.
It's possible the Mercedes drivers get a great launch and pull away immediately. That said, if Lewis goes beast mode off the line, Bottas will likely instinctively play wingman to cover his back.
ADDITION: No matter how much Verstappen has matured mentally, those split seconds of pure madness are dangerous; especially if Lewis has a poor start, Max will find that extra surge of motivation to overtake him before Turn 1—no matter the cost.

This looks like a recipe for disaster...
Starting Haas in 14th and 15th, right behind much faster drivers like Tsunoda, Norris, Ocon, Russell, and Stroll? It smells like a total meltdown within the first five laps.

"Fingers crossed"!?

You're a moderator—you've got all the tools you need to stop "hoping" and just start threatening people until they actually do what you want.

The rest of us regular folks get stuck with hope, but definitely not you.

Exactly! The schedule is everything.

graniteharbor502 said:The schedule is right there at the end of the first post on that last image. Still, I hope Alan starts paying more attention to what the forum users want regarding the schedule being in a clearer spot (and maybe a clearer format).

I don't really get how it isn't visible. I know the graphics overlaying the images make things difficult again, kind of like how we struggle with the TV broadcast every year. One idea I have is to turn the thread intros into actual previews before the races start. I thought about making a video for YouTube, but I'm worried about getting flagged.

The schedule on that image is 600px wide. I honestly don't see how it's not readable. The numbers are 16px font, red, paired with white text for the descriptions, all set against a dark background.

And as for the "forum users," so far it's just been the President complaining about how much I understand. Or the bashing over on PP.

wow, I don't get this whole argument. We aren't little kids who need massive drawings and giant letters like a first-grade textbook.

I’m calling it now: I think Mercedes will grab P1 or P2 during qualifying.

My memory might be playing tricks on me, but I feel like Max has been getting much better starts this year when he isn't starting from pole position.

Does anyone think any of the top 10 will actually make it through on soft tires? Any takers?

Wow, I don't really get this whole debate. We aren't elementary schoolers who need giant colorful drawings and oversized letters in a textbook to understand things.

You're right, Alen, don't let it get to you!

The President is probably just having one of those days where nothing makes sense.

And Mr. Fortinbras is playing along with his usual formal routine.

Don't pay them any mind 😁
