Why do public figures always have to weigh in on sports debates?

It feels like every time a major political figure opens their mouth, they feel the need to insert themselves into the "Greatest of All Time" conversation. I honestly wish they'd just stick to their own lane and let us fans argue in peace. Does anyone else find it incredibly cringey when non-athletes try to settle these debates?
