my {personal} pattern

Just imagine...
Taking an individual away from the herd, away from the routine... all that comfort, ease, and conformity; or as you put it, cowardice. Dropping them into a 24/7 virtual environment—something way more advanced than what we have now, maybe some non-commercialized version of an Oculus Rift—and taking them on the "journey of a lifetime."
Imagine letting them hear and feel the blast of a Hellfire missile nearby. Let them smell the phosphorus from white phosphorus bombs. Let them see—not just a picture, but the actual horror of a child burned beyond recognition. Let them feel that absolute sense of being trapped, of total surrender. Imagine the dread of waiting in a POW camp, wondering if they’ll be led to an execution or a mass assault. Let them perceive true, bone-deep hunger. Let them lie dying on a roadside while passersby simply walk past, by the literal definition of the word. Let them experience, through every sense, the reality of slaughterhouses, industrial feedlots, and those scientific labs where animals endure every possible experiment in the name of "progress." Have them wander through the various iterations of modern slums. Let them feel the overwhelming celebration of some global holiday; those commercially manufactured versions of moral values... the joy, the gifts, the warmth of home security and comfort... but experienced from the perspective of someone who isn't alone, but absolutely, utterly homeless. Someone who "possesses" nothing but their own worthless self. Let them be alone, or perhaps in a group, in a desolate wasteland with no running water, no electricity, no heat, no food. Let them observe their own functioning outside the current social framework. Let them test their capacity, their will, their raw desire to simply survive. Let them notice how, without conformity, the very group they find themselves in suddenly shifts its entire structure and set of rules. Let them witness the birth of a child and the joy of parents, only to see that same child die days later from "fated" medical complications; let them feel the grief and agony of parents facing a rupture they can't process or handle in their new reality. Full-blown oscillations of dualism. Let them belong to a group that is cast out because they can't fit in, isolated in some sort of halfway house or prison. Let them feel the sensation of being innocent in a jail cell, or any other institution, and the sheer struggle of adapting just to stay alive. Let them feel like a misdiagnosed patient whose life has been systematically degraded until their existence is reduced to mere insignificance in the eyes of the world. Let them perceive aging and the flow of time, becoming a collector of states: sickness, decay, the dying of matter... in a world they no longer belong to. Watching those once-solidly held beliefs about maintaining the "self" evaporate and vanish. Feeling the salt of tears caused by waves of regret over time wasted glorifying a miserable ego... all while waiting for death to arrive as a relief from the unbearable pain of terminal cancer........................................ ........................................
Would such "therapy" be torture or...?
And obviously, let's not give it a "concentration camp" label. Everything mentioned is just a snapshot in time..
You could guide a person through the other side of duality. Or rather, you would have to..
Alternately... if "perceptual realism" were the goal of this "therapy."
Sensory deprivation shows just how fragile the "I" really is.
Doing the opposite might result in the exact same thing. A paradox?
The "I"; a levitating form of paradox, traveling through a spectrum of conditioning.

What does any of this have to do with "I have no friends and the loneliness is killing me"?
It's the same as me looking at myself; does my friend even have a "self"? Looking at it that way, what even is friendship?
In a sandbox, we build colonies on Mars together. Togetherness is friendship. Togetherness through imagination. Today, little Timmy... just like many days before... has a stomachache, so he isn't in the mood for imagining things. Automatically, without even trying, little Timmy has no place in a togetherness that relies on imagination. Unless, eventually, enough kids grow up who actually *are* in the mood to build colonies on Mars... after one convincing Timmy eloquently explained and painted a picture for them, giving them a glimpse into the benefits... not of imagining through a stomachache... but of a new kind of game... played through imagination.

I'm on the hunt for a truly authentic version of pure, old-school whitefish. You know the kind? No gimmicks, just the real deal. Anyone know where I can find some?

I was just scrolling through some news earlier and stumbled upon this story about how people are reacting to those massive price hikes at the grocery stores lately. It’s getting pretty wild, isn't it? You go in for a few basics and suddenly you feel like you need a second mortgage just to walk out with a bag of groceries. It really makes you wonder where the line is. People are starting to lose their cool, and honestly, who can blame them? I saw someone on Reddit venting about how they had to put back a specific brand of coffee because the price jumped almost overnight. It feels like every time you turn around, the cost of living in the States is hitting a new peak. Is it just inflation, or are we seeing something more permanent here? I don't know. It just feels like everything—from gas to eggs—is part of this weird, uphill battle we're all fighting right now. Does anyone else feel like they're constantly recalculating their budget mid-aisle? It's exhausting.

I don't really have the energy to dive into long threads right now—but I am certain I’ll eventually find my niche here once my sense of normalcy starts to slip away.

Honestly, those Normabel products are about as useful as a broken Tic Tac—they're completely worthless.

I don't. However, if anyone happens to be struggling with their mental health, I am quite an adept diagnostician. I can provide therapy as well—and I am rarely ever incorrect. Though, I must admit, many people haven't managed to recover.

slyraven27 said:Honestly, those over-the-counter meds are basically just glorified Tic Tacs at this point. They aren't worth the shelf space.

I mean, I do occasionally rely on them to catch some Z's, and they do get the job done, I guess. Though, if I'm being totally honest with myself, my brain might just be playing tricks on me—thinking I've actually ingested something that works, when it's really just a massive placebo effect kicking in because I've convinced myself I can finally drift off.🤔

Though, if I’m being honest with myself, there’s a high probability my brain is just playing tricks on me; once I realize I’ve actually taken something, my mind settles into the idea that it's time to drift off—which might just be a classic case of the placebo effect at play.🤔

I’m not entirely convinced by that—it just doesn't sit right with me. However, I have to admit there is a possibility you might be onto something. It’s almost as if once I finish a drink, I finally feel like myself again—as if I can actually convince myself that I am perfectly normal.

slyraven27 said:It doesn't do anything for me, honestly. Though, I suppose you might have a point there. Once I take it, I suddenly feel convinced that I’m actually a functional, sane human being.

Well, that explains why they named it Normabel—☕ It only makes you normal if someone who isn't quite "all there" takes it to level the playing field.🤔

darksurfer4 said:Well, that’s exactly why they call it Normabel☕ It’s designed to make you normal—provided you actually take the damn thing to become "normal."🤔

In that case, it would mean I'm not actually abnormal at all—which, quite frankly, doesn't suit my current situation one bit.
