Just watched it. It was solid, but honestly, didn't quite hit the mark for me like I thought it would—a bit too much filler in there. It’s a decent flick, just leans more toward boring than great at times. 7/10

Basically, Gibson is just trolling bankers by playing this grumpy old guy who’s seeing his workload dry up. His little rants are absolutely hilarious—especially that "I have my eye on you" bit.

He totally played them.

I bet there's more where that came from.

My only tiny gripe? He used a Navy Colt .44 with loaded cartridges instead of the old-school way, you know, loading the powder and ball separately. Man, that would've been comedy gold.

You've got this psycho spraying away with an automatic, while this dude is just chillin', reloading his cylinder, popping in caps, and muttering, "Watch your step, kid."

That trailer looks solid. I'm really hoping it turns out to be at least a fun watch.

It’s a wild concept, though I have to say, the execution kind of stumbled.
There was so much untapped potential here—I mean, you've got Gibson and Goggins on screen, and even that "little shit" absolutely crushed his part—but it just didn't quite reach those heights.
That said, the last twenty minutes or so really tie the whole thing together nicely, but man, I can't help but wonder what kind of absolute madness the Coen brothers would have cooked up with an idea like this...

Honestly, Coen would have produced a much more cohesive film.

I suspect if Chris's wife had been a white American or Canadian woman, she wouldn't have been saddled with such an excessive amount of dialogue.

The premise actually sounded pretty promising on paper: you had Mel Gibson playing this unconventional Santa Claus being recruited by the military, Walton Goggins as a hitman with a bizarre fixation on the big guy in red, and a miniature Ben Shapiro lookalike acting as an arrogant little snob seeking vengeance. Throw in a snowy winter setting and a vibe reminiscent of a Coen brothers film, and you’d think we were in for something special. Instead, it was just a massive letdown. The plot meanders aimlessly without ever hitting its stride; there are no standout moments, the dialogue lacks any real wit or punch, and even the attempt at a climax feels hollow. It’s essentially a textbook example of a wasted opportunity.

The cast? Absolutely killer. The movie itself? Meh. It’s got a cool concept, I guess, but something just felt... off.

I’m on the same page as the previous two posters and most of the crowd above. Honestly, I think the directing really missed the mark here because none of the characters actually land... They really needed much deeper characterization and a lot more insanity to make this work.

All in all, it wasn't bad—just definitely different. I liked it, though there was certainly room for improvement.

Maybe they should've leaned harder into the comedy side of things.

The plot is a bit clunky, I guess, but what else do you expect from a movie based on mythology?
It’s a shame they didn't lean harder into the whole immortality thing or his superhuman strength, though I'm pretty sure Fatman ends up regenerating that lost eye anyway.
I wouldn't go looking for a masterpiece here; the movie wasn't even aiming for that.

Finally, a decent movie! I actually loved this one. Based on the trailer, I thought it was gonna be crazy, but it went way beyond what I expected. Had a blast. I’m all about those movies that push the envelope to the absolute limit! 🙏

Man, what a killer movie! Seriously, such a breath of fresh air since everything else coming out lately feels so stale.
