Just remember how long it was since we had a decent search tool last time—like, two years? Yeah, expect the same kind of drought this time around.

Look, all that matters is that calendar sitting up there at the top. It needs to go. I have zero clue what purpose it’s even serving here.

+ Any users who haven't posted in over two years + anyone permanently banned for more than two years—just wipe them out. Honestly, I think cleaning out the dead weight would actually stabilize the site.

But yeah, this is just more proof that this place desperately needs a total facelift.

It isn't failing because the search engine is broken. That *is* the search engine.

Back when that happened, I’ve been using Reddit for 6 or 7 years without any major issues.

And then you just forgot about it.
Over the last six or seven years, there have been constant issues with the formatting on Reddit—and the search function was disabled entirely.
It’s never really been certain whether everything was functioning properly.

@quietfox384/">@@quietfox384, you're spot on. That search tool was basically useless for at least a year. It was a total joke. Trying to track anything was impossible—I was losing my mind. Then, out of nowhere, everything just started working. Now? We’re right back to square one. I really hope it doesn't take this long to fix things again.

I can't vouch for the search tool, but Reddit used to show me every single thread I’ve ever participated in.

Now it's throwing a "you don't have permission" error at me. Clearly, something changed...

That’s exactly the point—things have shifted, especially now that they've scrapped our search engine.
