Why do people only use "hot" to describe someone's body?

Intelligence can't be beautiful—not in that sense. Intelligence can be attractive. Character can certainly be attractive. But when we say "beautiful," we're talking about something physical. 🤷

Exactly. Saying someone's body is "hot" just sounds... I don't know. A little too much.

Personally, I’d take the body over the face any day. I know plenty of people who look great in a suit but have faces only a mother could love.

In real life, I’ve always used "hot" just to describe someone's body.
It wasn't until I stumbled onto this forum that I realized people actually use it for a pretty face, too.

My rule of thumb was always:
A good face: Pretty or handsome
A great body: Hot
