So, I’m running into a bit of a headache with my hard drive situation—honestly, I’m totally lost here. I know my way around a Windows installation well enough, but I’m working with this Dell G15 that doesn't have a DVD-ROM, so I had to go the USB route. Everything was going fine until I hit that part where you’re supposed to pick a destination to install Windows... and there’s absolutely nothing there. I keep hitting "refresh," but nothing happens. It’s just a blank slate. When I look at the specs, it says there's a 256 GB SSD inside, so it should be showing up. I even hopped into the BIOS because I read somewhere online that I might need to tweak some SATA settings or something to get the partition to show up, but I couldn't find anything related to that anywhere. Now I'm starting to wonder—is it actually possible for a brand-new laptop straight out of the box to not even have a hard drive installed?
I just checked the Command Prompt, and when I try to pull up the list of drives, the only thing that shows up is the USB stick I plugged in. So, what am I looking at here? Any ideas?
