Found a scorpion in my house!

Is there anything besides a raid available to deal with this scorpion problem? Maybe some kind of trap... I don't know, something effective...

Well, I did—and you know how. Using that gadget that looks more like a battery-powered tennis racket than a tool; just hit it with a surge of electricity. 🙂 I took care of it immediately, though I’ll admit I got a bit spooked when I flipped the light on and saw it "scurrying" across the wall. ^^ Now I'm actually worried there might be more of them lurking around...

It started out small, but then it began scouting—like some kind of local American Skorpion, maybe 2 to 3 inches long...

Clearly, the trap was a bust. I'll clear everything out of the room later, and for any other gaps—like under the dresser or where the wall meets the cabinet—I'll just seal them up with some tape, peel a corner back, spray a bit of Raid, and seal it tight. 🙂

Where on earth are you finding scorpions? Do you live in Mexico or something? 😵

They actually show up in California; I’ve personally spotted smaller ones around vacation rentals and houses out there. 😁

Besides the Skorpion and black widows, I’ve actually run into them out in California too. 😛

He could just grab it and toss it outside; he doesn't even need to kill it. Those Skorpion guys we have around here barely have enough venom to paralyze a fly. Honestly, if one actually stung a person, the worst you'd get is a little red bump, kind of like a mosquito bite.

We used to mess around with black widows like little kids. We’d find one of those big, chunky black spiders and pop it in a jar, but once we shook it, we realized it wasn't actually fat—it was just covered in like a thousand tiny babies. As soon as they started falling out, we spotted that little red mark and bolted.🤦

I’ve run into at least a hundred Skorpions in my time, and I always just grab them and move them over to a bush without thinking twice. They're totally harmless.

Skorpion is actually all over Washington, D.C. and the surrounding areas—they're pretty widespread, really.

Anyway, there's a mosquito by the window. I never leave my bedroom door open, so there's probably more than one lurking. I have a cat, but well... she can't hide everywhere, haha.

Our local bugs just aren't on the same level as those African ones—the ones that are basically the size of lobsters. I got stung by a Skorpion twice and honestly, nothing much happened. It just swelled up a bit, kind of like a mosquito bite. One time I actually stepped on one barefoot, and another time I had my sneaker on and felt this little prick, then it started stinging. I was like, what the hell? after a few minutes. I pull off the shoe and there's the claw right inside. 😁

It depends on the species, honestly. A few years back, I ran into a massive one while staying at an Airbnb near Lake Tahoe. It was terrifying for both of us. The only weapon we had on hand was a dull kitchen knife, for God's sake...
