To chassis just doesn't feel as planted as the last one; it’s definitely a step backward. On the bright side, though, the engine is a massive improvement. 😉

We have everything we need; we just seem to lack the common sense and the patriotism—well, at least enough of it, regardless of how many groups swear they're patriotic.

I completely agree with that sentiment. I think I misspoke earlier by not mentioning that applying those same rules would bring them closer to Mercedes-Benz, much like how America might approach Japan under the current leadership. Both scenarios feel impossible; in Formula 1, it’s tough because Ferrari is always dealing with internal turbulence—even when things finally stabilize, their lead strategist tends to pass away, leaving everyone back in chaos. 🤷 And RB—or rather, Honda—is simply too far behind to ever catch up. 🤷

It would be really interesting to see how much of a gain Renault actually made on the chassis versus how much they put into the engine.

Personally, I’m pretty convinced that Red Bull took a hit on their chassis performance just to make up for those gains in the power unit. 😁

I'm looking at that same chart over on r/formula1, and I saw this one comment:

In theory, if Red Bull had been running a Renault engine, they would have needed to find another half a second just to stay competitive—which might have been enough to secure half of the Australian Grand Prix races this season, right? 😁 Honestly, I find it hard to believe that Red Bull could have actually clinched the championship this year if they were still stuck with a Renault power unit. 😉>

Brian Campbell36 said:Just enjoy Mercedes-Benz dominating this season and next. Stop worrying about damn Ferrari.
They have zero competition this year or next, right?
According to the experts, Mercedes-Benz turned a 0.5 second deficit into a 0.7 second lead.
The team found 1.2 seconds in just two weeks—that is an incredibly impressive job.
Everyone is obsessed with Ferrari, yet Red Bull is going to be the one hunting down Mercedes-Benz.
Allison was the architect behind last year's Ferrari (it fell apart once he left), and thanks to him, Mercedes-Benz swept both titles last year.
He was the one who insisted on a closer look at the Ferrari car, which led to those FIA inspections and the subsequent sensor installations.

We don't have to agree, but I'm glad you put together such a decent post. It's long, but actually gets to the point without wasting time.👍

Remaining tire sets for the race.

Looking at the data, it seems like Verstappen has the least amount of margin left when it comes to tire degradation.

Renault 8. 1:22.562 4. 1:23.061 -0.499

This is what F1 is showing us.

So it's clearly not a Renault issue. XD Based on these numbers, they actually made some decent progress here. xD LOL.

darkmarlin16 said:Is there anything more predictable than a massive blowout in racing? It feels like we’re staring down the barrel of another absolute slaughter on the track. When you look at the current grid, the gap between the frontrunners and everyone else isn't just a margin; it's a canyon. We’ve seen this pattern before where one team finds a perfect setup and essentially turns the race into a solo exhibition. Are we even watching a competition anymore, or just waiting to see by how many seconds the leader crosses the finish line? The tension is building, but it doesn't feel like the kind of tension that leads to an upset. Instead, it feels like the inevitable result of pure technical dominance. One side has all the tools, and the other side is just fighting for scraps. Can anyone actually disrupt this hierarchy, or are we stuck in this cycle for the rest of the season?

Come on, the first person to actually say something intelligent in this thread is usually the only one worth listening to. Everyone else is just out here acting like they’re the next big thing, basically wannabe Sennas. xD

What are you even talking about?
Red Bull Honda already has a car more capable of winning a title than anything Ferrari ever had during the hybrid era.
And we all know pretty well that nobody—not even Mercedes—can touch Red Bull when it comes to mid-season upgrades...

Red Bull Honda’s only massive issue is their driver lineup, nothing else.
If Ricciardo had stayed, they might have actually pulled off a driver's title, but right now, there's almost zero chance for that, let alone the constructors'...
It’s not totally impossible that Max has grown up and could be a serious contender; the kid definitely has the talent and the speed... the problem is he hasn't exactly shown much common sense or patience so far...

Whether you like him or not (try to forget those times he crashed into a Ferrari for a second), I honestly think he's the only hope for Ferrari to clinch a constructors' or drivers' title anytime soon. I really hope the Italians snap him up by 2021.
