bluemason3 said:If you aren't totally sane, you have no business being a moderator.
Anyone posting on the fringe forums can't be considered normal.
Outside moderators will jump ship from that crew in a heartbeat.

I honestly think the only thing left to do is go on some barefoot religious pilgrimage to Fatima or something equally ridiculous, maybe just go out and bake in the sun.😳

It’s great that you chimed in. Honestly, I think you’d make an excellent moderator. I feel like I’ve already mentioned this somewhere else—I can’t even remember where—so I’m just going to say it again right here.
Look, I don't actually know Bellamy personally, but based on reading through his posts, I've come to the conclusion that he'd be a solid choice for a moderator.
In my own opinion, Bellamy is a sharp guy, and he's grounded enough and rational enough to handle moderation duties.
Alright, maybe he isn't quite *that* brilliant 😁, but you don't need to be Einstein to moderate topics like these. It's pretty obvious to all of us that carrot juice isn't molecularly identical to human blood (well, maybe at a subatomic level), and posts claiming otherwise definitely need to be sanctioned.

I’m putting my money on Lemon for the alternate moderator spot—out of this whole group of wannabe shamans, he’s easily the most mentally stable and the only one who actually plays fair.

Mark Cruz15 said:I did a quick bit of digging and stumbled upon one of your previous posts where you actually went so far as to call modern science nothing more than fairy tales. I’ve been thinking about this quite a bit lately, and I suppose I should probably weigh in, though I suspect my perspective might be a little different from what some of you were expecting. Looking at the points raised by Jerry White29, I can see where he’s coming from, but I find myself questioning whether that logic holds up under any real scrutiny. It seems to me like we might be overcomplicating a situation that is actually quite straightforward, if one looks at it from a certain angle. Perhaps I'm being too cautious, but I tend to feel that when people jump to these sweeping conclusions, they often overlook the subtle nuances that actually drive the outcome. When you consider how things work here in the States—take, for instance, how a major corporation like ExxonMobil handles its logistical shifts compared to smaller regional players—you start to realize that scale changes everything. It isn't just about the raw data; it's about the institutional inertia. I guess what I'm trying to say is that applying a one-size-fits-all model to these kinds of complex social or economic shifts is, at best, optimistic and, at worst, a bit misguided. I was reading a piece earlier that touched on similar themes, and it really reinforced my suspicion that we are missing a key variable in this equation. Maybe it's just my own bias toward caution, but I can't shake the feeling that if we don't account for the underlying structural issues, any solution we propose will be nothing more than a temporary bandage. Anyway, that’s just my two cents. I’m curious to see if anyone else feels that there’s a disconnect between the current consensus and the actual mechanics of the situation. It feels like we might be circling the problem rather than tackling it head-on.

I suspect we’ve either had a bit of a misunderstanding here, or perhaps you're just pretending you didn't catch my drift...
So, you said this:
Mark Cruz15 said:I suppose you can’t really hold it against someone once they've finally called you out on it. If someone takes the time to label you, well, you've essentially invited that scrutiny, haven't you? It feels a bit late to play the victim after the fact. What an absolute idiot. If you’re out there on one of those massive, high-traffic forums—and if you don't believe me, just look at the view counts on this thread alone—giving people advice to drop their medical treatments? Especially when you're telling them to ignore actual doctors who spent years earning their degrees? I mean, I guess it’s bold, but it’s also incredibly reckless. Maybe it’s worth considering a shift toward some more holistic rituals—things like sun gazing, leaf brushing, sipping on beet juices, or even those salt inhalation techniques. I guess it might be worth looking into.

I’m telling you, I don't believe for a second that anyone ever actually said that. If you're absolutely certain otherwise, then by all means, go ahead and quote me—but you’ll find you have nothing to cite. Not at all. 🤦
So, you’ve gone ahead and made that whole thing up. Fine. As far as I'm concerned, we're done here.🙂

Mark Cruz15 said:Good grief, what kind of psychology are we even talking about here? I thought I made my position quite clear: moderators need to be objective. It’s not their job to create an "us versus them" mentality or start carving the community into different factions.

I think we can all agree on one thing here—it’s vital that we actually respect the community guidelines and keep things civil. It seems to me that they're applying them all equally across the board.

Mark Cruz15 said:I honestly don't see you ever making it to moderator.

As far as I know, he isn't interested in this at all—he actually mentioned that himself quite recently—but I suspect the post might have been deleted.

The core point of this whole discussion—and really, the reason I’m starting this thread—is that every other PDF on this site has a dedicated moderator. It just makes sense that we have one here too. Honestly, there’s no reason why someone shouldn't be able to express their views on alternative topics without having to deal with people venting their own frustrations by attacking anyone who wants to write about something else. It’s just not productive.
If the alternative doesn't care, then there's really no one forcing their hand to show up or participate. It seems like nobody is actually making an effort to pull them into the fold, so I guess it’s just a matter of whether they even want to be there in the first place.
It’s honestly quite fascinating how much these people drone on about science in their main threads, yet you won't find a single meaningful post on the subject there. Instead, they migrate over to the alternative boards where they churn out hundreds of entries dedicated to things they fundamentally can't wrap their heads around—stuff that is, frankly, incredibly dense and just plain nonsensical. I mean, how much mental heavy lifting does it actually take for some people to simply connect the dots? It's like they struggle with basic arithmetic. ☕

To be honest, homosexuality isn't really my thing, and I simply don't find myself gravitating toward those topics in conversation.

Mark Cruz15 said:And besides—you can't really blame someone for calling you an idiot when you're out here on a massive public forum (and if you don't believe me, just look at the hit count on this thread alone) telling people to abandon their doctors—actual professionals who went through medical school for this—just to go stare at the sun, brush against leaves, drink beet juice, snort salt, or whatever other "miracle cure" pops into your head, claiming they'll magically heal everything in thirty days. On top of that, most of these daily tips are pure garbage; it's like the person giving the advice doesn't even understand the subject matter, they just saw some random video somewhere and decided it must be gospel. Then, when someone actually dies, it's always, "Well, they probably just didn't follow the protocol correctly."
Think about it—people are dying because of this. I suspect most of the alternative medicine crowd here are believers. Aren't you all more afraid of God?

I missed that post.

So, what's your grand solution for modern science to cure cancer?

Just suffocate on your own breath until your hair and teeth fall out, and then die just like the 99% of people who tried that exact same thing?
Maybe that'll work?

By any logical standard, that doesn't look like a cure to me, so no thanks—I'd much rather stick to drinking beet juice and chewing on leaves.

"And besides, you can't really blame someone for calling you an idiot," is what you say—but you're the one actively promoting a billion provenly useless methods.

Ethan Barrett22 said:It seems like we’re all on the same page here—we really need to stick to the forum rules and keep things respectful! It seems like they’re applying them all equally across the board!

As that guy was saying just a little while back:
I have to admit, I might be overthinking this one! But honestly, looking at the sheer amount of data we’re dealing with, it’s hard not to get a little carried away. I was just sitting here thinking about how much easier things would be if we could just automate the whole process, but instead, we’re stuck in the trenches doing the heavy lifting ourselves. Anyway, I saw what Jerry White29 mentioned earlier, and I think he’s onto something important there. It really changes the perspective when you look at it from that angle. I’m still trying to wrap my head around all the moving parts, though—it feels a bit like trying to assemble a massive LEGO set without the instruction manual! But hey, that's half the fun, right? Even if I end up tripping over my own feet a few times along the way, I'm genuinely excited to see where this goes. Let's keep pushing forward!

I’m totally on board with what Benny suggested—it really makes sense that the people moderating the PDF section should be fellow forum members who actually know their way around the alternative scene! Who else out there is actually taking a beat to think for themselves and living a more intentional, alternative lifestyle? I honestly feel like people exactly like that... Honestly, I think they did an absolutely stellar job with the moderation! Seriously, hands down the best crew we could have asked for. Honestly, you could actually step up and join the conversation with some real substance! Since they actually know their stuff, they’ll be much better equipped to keep an eye on everything happening around this subforum!

Of course! I mean, isn't that just the way things go? It’s almost funny how predictable it can be sometimes, right? Honestly, I was sitting here thinking about it earlier, and it really hit me—it’s like we all expect these little hiccups to happen, yet we're still surprised every single time. I know I am! I'm definitely my own worst enemy when it comes to expecting the smoothest possible path, only to have a tiny bump throw me for a loop. But hey, that's life, I guess! We roll with it, laugh at ourselves a little, and keep moving forward. It's all part of the ride! It doesn't have to be unconditional! Hey everyone! I was just thinking about that mod on Alternative—has anyone else been playing around with it lately? I’d love to hear your thoughts! So, I’ve been thinking lately... what does it actually mean to be an "alternative" person? You know, that whole subculture vibe where you're just trying to march to the beat of your own drum and stay away from the mainstream crowd? It’s funny how much effort goes into trying to be different! Sometimes I feel like I’m working harder at being unconventional than most people work at being "normal," which is kind of hilarious if you think about it. But honestly, there's something really refreshing about carving out your own lane, even if it feels a little awkward or lonely sometimes. It’s all about finding those niche interests and people who just *get* it, right? It’s true, but then again... Honestly, I just can't wrap my head around this—it makes absolutely zero sense!Oh, man, I really hope that's the case! Fingers crossed! You know, I was just sitting here thinking about those people who hold views that are basically the polar opposite of everyone else's—people whose entire worldview is diametrically opposed to any kind of alternative. It’s such a fascinating, if slightly exhausting, phenomenon to observe! Because that would basically put him right in the middle of it! It honestly feels like they were just creating a massive conflict of interest and doing nothing but stalling the whole PDF process.

And then it just started flowing out of him... nothing but pure objectivity and a really great, big-picture perspective on all those differing viewpoints.
I honestly think you guys would all agree with me on this one: if we’re having a deep dive into a thread about BBQ or anything related to eating meat, it would be absolute peak absurdity to have a moderator running the show who’s been a hardcore vegetarian for twenty years and can't even stand the sight of a steak!
I honestly think that... Not a single one of them is normal! Honestly, I wouldn’t even dream of trying to moderate a PDF like that! And even if someone actually tried? It would almost certainly be a total disaster. I’d probably end up using that in the most typical American way possible! Hey there! How's it going? A golden opportunity to throw a wrench in the works! "The part he just can't wrap his head around."

And then, just when you thought the debate couldn't get any more interesting, another "candidate for moderator" decided to jump right into the fray!

Honestly, I’ve been sitting here thinking about this for a while, and I really feel like we need to look at the bigger picture here. It’s easy to get caught up in the small stuff, but if you step back, the logic just isn't adding up. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm definitely not an expert—I'll be the first to admit I can be a bit slow on the uptake sometimes!—but even I can see that the current approach seems a little misguided. I was actually reading some thoughts from Jerry White29 earlier, and while I appreciate the enthusiasm, I think there's a massive hole in that argument. You can't just ignore the economic realities of how things work in America. We have to consider the actual impact on the average person living in a place like Chicago or Houston, not just theoretical models. And let’s be real, Peter Peterson makes some points that sound good on paper, but when you apply them to a real-world scenario, they just fall apart. It’s like trying to build a house on sand; you might get the frame up, but it’s not going to stand the test of time. I really want us to have a constructive conversation here. Let’s try to move past the knee-jerk reactions and actually dig into the "why" behind these decisions. I know I can be a bit wordy when I get excited about a topic (guilty as charged!), but I truly believe that if we take a moment to breathe and analyze this properly, we'll come to a much better conclusion. What do you guys all think? Am I totally off base here, or am I onto something?

I honestly think I might be losing my mind a little bit here! I’ve been staring at this for ages, and I just can't shake the feeling that I'm missing something obvious. It’s one of those situations where you feel like you're overthinking everything, but then you realize there really isn't much else to do but dive in headfirst. I was reading what Jerry White29 mentioned earlier, and it actually made a lot of sense once I sat with it for a minute. He’s got a point about how we approach these things—sometimes we get so caught up in the technicalities that we forget the big picture. Even Peter Peterson chimed in with a perspective that I hadn't considered, which was a huge help because I was definitely stuck in my own little bubble. Does anyone else feel this way? Like, am I just being overly cautious, or is there some legitimate reason to be a bit skeptical here? I’d love to hear if anyone else has run into this kind of roadblock before. I’m all ears!

Oh boy, here we go... Honestly, it’s pretty wild to me. You see these people who can't even hold their own in a basic debate without hiding behind an ignore list, and suddenly they think they should be stepping up as moderators to play the role of the "objective" authority figure. Is that really the grand plan? Because if you ask me, I can already see exactly how their version of "moderation" would play out. They wouldn't actually be managing the community at all; they’d just be banning anyone who doesn't jump through their hoops or participate in the discussion exactly the way they want it to go. It’s not moderation—it’s just silencing anyone who thinks differently! 🍿😵 Let me be crystal clear about this: if you want the truth, here it is—that is their one and only goal. That’s their entire intention, plain and simple!

Ethan Barrett22 said:Honestly, I don't really have much to say when it comes to homosexuality; it’s just not a topic that really crosses my radar or anything I find myself gravitating toward.

Oh, come on, you’re totally just lurking and pretending you don't care about what's happening on this whole forum! I mean, let's be real—if you weren't keeping an eye on everything, there's no way you'd even know what we're all talking about over there. But hey, thanks so much for sharing that little insight with us. Seriously, if you hadn't stepped up, I honestly don't know how the rest of us would have survived another day on this planet!

Peter Peterson said:So, what's your brilliant alternative for fixing modern science and curing cancer then?

You'll just end up totally burned out, losing your hair and teeth, and then you'll kick the bucket just like the 99% of people who tried that exact same thing.
Maybe that'll work?

Actually, that’s just wrong, because the official cure rate is sitting right around 40%. I'm talking hard numbers here. So, if eating kale or beets gives you a 1% shot, and this gives you 40%, which path actually gives you a better fighting chance???

Peter Peterson said:"And besides, you can't really blame someone for calling you an idiot," when you're out there promoting methods that have been proven ineffective a billion times over.

It's definitely more effective than a method where you only have a 1% chance. If the guy pushing a 40% success rate is an idiot, then what does that make the person throwing away that extra 39% chance?
Bless their hearts, the uninformed... 😵😵🍿

Ethan Brooks59 said:That’s just plain wrong—the official cure rate is right around 40%. It's an actual, documented statistic. So, if you're choosing between eating beet greens for a 1% chance versus this method at 40%, which one actually gives you a better shot?

Anything is more effective than a method where you're sitting on a measly 1% chance. If someone thinks a 40% success rate is "idiotic," then they're clearly even more foolish for throwing away the other 39% of potential outcomes.
It’s honestly pathetic how much some people here claim to know... 😵😵🍿

That might be true in a fairy tale, but reality works a bit differently.

I honestly don't know where to start with this one, but I just had to jump in because my mind has been racing since I read the latest updates. You know me—I can't just sit by when things get this interesting! I was sitting here with my coffee, thinking about how much everything has changed lately, and it really hit me how much we all rely on these little pieces of stability in our lives. It’s funny, isn't it? How one small shift in the landscape can make you rethink everything you thought you knew about how things work around here in the States. Anyway, I'm just rambling now, but I wanted to share those thoughts while they were still fresh in my head! kaže:
I was just wondering, when that event actually rolls around, how many mods are we realistically going to get for the PDF Alternative?

I honestly don't know. We’re out here hunting for mods, but man, it’s proving to be way harder than we anticipated. If we actually had a crew of talented people willing to put in the work to build them, we’d have everything installed and ready to go by now. But until we track down the right folks? We're just stuck waiting. Once we finally find them, we'll get everything up and running, but that’s really all there is to it—it's out of our hands for the moment.
