Why the hell did they lock the Daylight Saving Time poll over on the Policy Forum?

Look, there is a massive difference between ditching the whole tradition of shifting clocks and actually deciding how we handle time once Daylight Saving Time is gone for good.

A directive... honestly, you probably haven't even read the topic yet, but you're already asking for something new. It doesn't work that way—you can't just issue an EU Commissioner's decision and expect the mod team to make it happen. Politics.

The EU wasn't even debating whether to abolish Daylight Saving Time specifically, but rather if they should just stop switching the clocks entirely. Once they decided to end the seasonal shifts, they basically left it up to individual member states to pick their permanent setting—either Standard Time or Daylight Saving Time. (Which seems pretty idiotic to me because, theoretically, we could end up an hour apart from our neighbors just because everyone picks something different)

You haven't really added anything new here. You could have just posted this in the main thread; this isn't a PDF for discussions.

It’s a total waste of space that they even shoved a third option in there: "I don't care." I mean, seriously? If someone actually doesn't give a damn, they aren't showing up to the polls anyway, so why even bother asking? It's a completely pointless question if you ask me.
