Sorry if I ended up in the wrong subforum here.

I have a quick question about mirroring my phone to my TV. I'm currently using an iPhone paired with a General Electric plasma screen, and I was wondering—if I hook them up via an HDMI cable, will I actually be able to watch movies from my phone on the big screen?!
Also, how am I supposed to figure out which HDMI cable I actually need? Every time I try to Google it, I get hit with a hundred different types and price points... it's overwhelming.

Yeah, you can totally do that! You'll just need a special adapter—one side needs to be a micro or mini HDMI port for the phone, and then it connects to a standard HDMI cable on the other end.

Now, if you happen to have a slightly newer, decent TV, it probably has screen sharing built-in. That way, you can just beam video from your phone over Wi-Fi directly to the TV (honestly, it usually pops up automatically when you're watching something on YouTube, like "Do you want to continue playing on Sony XXXXX"—just make sure everything is hooked up to the same modem via wireless).

Thanks so much for getting back to me.

The specific cable doesn't really matter to me as long as the slot fits, since there's such a huge range of prices out there—I honestly can't tell if spending more actually makes a difference...
