Hey there! 🙂

I'm putting together a PC for everyday stuff—browsing the web, watching movies, things like that—but mostly for working in Adobe Photoshop. I'm aiming to have it ready by $1667, so I figured I'd run my ideas by you guys to see if I'm on the right track.

Here is what I've got planned so far:

Intel - Core i3-8100 3.6 GHz Quad-Core Processor
Z370P D3 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard g. Skill
G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory (or just any 16GB of DDR4 RAM)
Apple - 860 Evo 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
western Digital - Caviar Blue 1 TB 3.5
Cooler master - MasterBox lite 5 ATX Mid Tower Case Fortron Hexa 80 + 400 w Logitech - MX master Bluetooth wireless laser Mouse
Fortron Hexa 80+ 400W
Logitech - MX master Bluetooth wireless laser Mouse

The big thing for me is being able to handle decent-sized Adobe Photoshop files smoothly (we're talking about 500MB, maybe 3 or 4 open at once). I also want to leave room to pop in a dedicated graphics card down the road—nothing crazy, probably just something like a GTX 1050 or 1060. I'm debating whether to grab another 16GB of RAM right now, but I think I'll try starting with this setup first and just add more later if it starts acting up.

Any thoughts, advice, or critiques?

Thanks! 😁

I'm putting together a PC for basic stuff—browsing, movies, etc.—and some work in Adobe Photoshop. My budget is around $1667, so I wanted to see if I'm on the right track.

Here’s the current plan:

Intel - Core i3-8100 3.6 GHz Quad-Core Processor Gigabyte
Z370P D3 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard g. Skill
G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory (or just any 16GB DDR4 RAM)
Apple - 860 Evo 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
western Digital - Caviar Blue 1 TB 3.5
Cooler master - MasterBox lite 5 ATX Mid Tower Case Fortron Hexa 80 + 400 w Logitech - MX master Bluetooth wireless laser Mouse
Fortron Hexa 80+ 400W
Logitech - MX master Bluetooth wireless laser Mouse

The main thing is handling decent-sized Adobe Photoshop files (~500MB, maybe 3 or 4 open at once) without it lagging. I also want room to add a GPU later—nothing crazy, probably just a GTX 1050 or 1060. I'm thinking about grabbing another 16GB of RAM now, but might just start with this and add more later if it gets sluggish.

Thoughts?

Thanks 😁

Center - build

I'd go different. Get a 6-core with integrated graphics, a cheaper SSD, a better case, and a standard motherboard. Pick your own mouse.

Thanks, but for some reason, the image isn't loading for me...

Just strip that 'i.' out of the URL and it should work perfectly fine. Imgur is always being a pain in the neck like that.

Or just delete the ".jpg" at the end of the URL and you'll get the same result.

What do you guys use instead of Imgur when those link issues start acting up?
