Daniel Ricciardo gets a 3-place grid penalty for speeding under the red flag, plus 2 penalty points.

I'm a bit skeptical about the rain hitting on Sunday, especially since the forecast shows very light intensity right during qualifying tomorrow. If it stays dry, Ricciardo could try to go for a fast lap now and test out a different strategy.

We can only hope for some rain tomorrow to give Max a fighting chance at making things difficult for Lewis Hamilton.

It felt like things really started to fall apart over at Red Bull last season once the pressure to perform actually kicked in, so I'm curious to see if they can hold it together during the US Grand Prix 2018. Personally, I still think Ferrari holds a slight edge if we're looking for anyone capable of actually challenging Mercedes.

I’d actually love to see it pour—one way or another. I've always been a fan of dry races, though; honestly, today's safety protocols kill the whole thrill of racing, especially when things get wet.

Sebastian Vettel mentioned that Ferrari has plenty more in store for us this weekend. It struck me as quite a self-assured claim, and Kimi seems to be echoing that same sentiment.
The rest of the field, however, appears much more cautious in their assessments. 🙂

It could be a tight one, and I suspect Mercedes won't have an easy stroll, regardless of how the track conditions turn out.
I’m genuinely pleased to see McLaren looking this fast; hopefully, they can maintain this momentum.

Overtaking is tough here, regardless. It isn't just about those short DRS stretches; the corners leading up to them are so tricky that they mess with your rhythm, making it nearly impossible to stay glued to the car ahead.
Adding another DRS zone is a good move because that specific section is where drivers can actually make up the most ground. But we're still facing the same old issue—that stretch is just too short.
Personally, I’ve always liked the Albert Park Circuit. It’s fluid and technical, almost like a gentler version of Monaco. ☕

Nothing new from McLaren. I was hoping they'd at least land in 7th or 8th, but this is just a disaster for them.

Alright, looks like Ferrari is actually faster than Red Bull Racing for now.
McLaren is totally underperforming though—Haas F1 Team and Renault absolutely smoked them.
Force India is looking pretty weak compared to their recent seasons, too.
Marcus Ericsson managed to get ahead of Charles Leclerc, so Sauber is still nowhere to be found. 😢

Bottas really gave him a run for his money 😬
