So, I started the thread for Prometheus over on the Movie subforum, and if I’m reading the room right, there’s this unwritten rule where whoever kicks off a topic basically becomes its unofficial curator or even a mini-mod. It means you’ve gotta stay on top of everything—latest news, trailers, the heated debates, the rumors, deep dives, all that good stuff.

And look, I actually do that. Every now and then, I jump in, and naturally, I always kick things off with my own take because, let's be honest, I'm a total fanatic. I’m out here trying to keep the conversation alive through sheer force of will, especially since people are constantly fighting about what’s next for this movie and where the franchise is headed.

Then, out of nowhere, some random guy pops up acting like I’m doing it all for attention or just to stir the pot. He thinks I'm some kind of troll. And apparently, that was enough of an excuse for the mods—and mind you, one of them is a notorious hater of this specific movie—to just wipe my posts clean???

So, I'm asking you guys: have I actually stepped on anyone's toes? Has my engagement, every single word and comma I've typed, infringed on anyone else's rights on this forum?

What gives? What's the catch?

Honestly, I’d be thrilled if someone showed even one percent of the passion I have for this 🤷

I certainly wouldn't dream of trying to shut them down or get in their way. 🤷

Someone please give me a straight answer, because if this is how things work around here, then this whole place is pretty much pointless. ☕

So, what was the actual post that supposedly "revived" this thread?

Just a link to a clip we've seen ten times already, one single quote (without even a link to show it's actually new), and the usual "Ridley Scott is a genius" commentary—nothing really happened, other than the thread being bumped back to the top.

Look, I do that from time to time, too. Some days I just jump in with my own take—which is totally fine since everyone knows I'm a huge fan. It’s actually pretty constructive, honestly... using my words to keep the conversation alive because we all know the debates get intense and people have strong feelings about where this movie is heading.

Just drop a link to some actual new info and give us your thoughts—nobody’s been deleting your posts until now.

And then some random guy shows up acting like everything I'm doing is just some selfish attempt to be annoying—basically saying I'm trolling. Is that really enough reason for the mods (one of whom is a known hater of this movie) to go ahead and wipe my posts???

Are you seriously trying to say you deleted my post (and the ones after it—where people were asking why you're repeating old news) just because you don't like the movie, rather than because the posts themselves were pointless?

So I'm asking you guys now: has my involvement—even just a single letter or comma—actually infringed on anyone's rights on this forum?

In principle, you're just repeating the same stuff over and over, flipping your opinion every other post... That's trolling. Smart trolling, sure, but still trolling. If you find actual news, post it. But there isn't any.

So, what's the catch?

Explained.

Honestly, I’d be thrilled if someone showed even 1% of the passion for any other movie that I feel for 🤷...

Look, you're being provocative here—acting like nobody loves any movie as much as you love the last Alien. Or maybe Mad Max. You don't know this community... you have no clue how much people actually care about the films they love watching.

Can someone please give me a coherent response? Because honestly, if this is how you approach a discussion, you're just wasting everyone's time... ☕

Pure drama.

briskhound2 said:So what exactly was the post that bumped this thread again?

The post pointed back to an article from December 27, 2017 (attached) where they’re debating the exact thing I’ve been talking about—is it Aliens or David?

And if you actually took a second to watch the "controversial" video linked in that article—the one I posted—you'd see it's basically a retrospective of Prometheus and AC combined, plus a comment from Ridley Scott doubling down on his vision. That video pretty much distills everything important and relevant happening right now.

A link to a clip we've all seen ten times already, one single quote (without any actual link to prove it's even news), and the usual "Ridley is a genius" nonsense. Nothing actually happened here except that the thread got bumped.

The topic was brought up because of those reasons mentioned above—there's legal wrangling going on between the studios, and I don't see how that isn't enough of a reason to post about it. 🤷

Just drop a link to some actual new info and give us your take—nobody’s been censoring you so far.

Yeah, you're the one who deleted my link, as stated earlier. ☕

Are you trying to say that my post (and the ones after it—where people were asking why you keep repeating old news) got nuked just because I don't like the movie, rather than because it's total nonsense?

And then you have the nerve to call me a troll. 😂

You say "nonsense"? What's actually nonsensical is insisting on sticking to something (Aliens) that the creator himself (Cameron) ran away from like it was some state secret. Now THAT is nonsense, my dear Deckard. ☕

In principle, you're just repeating things said a hundred times already, and every other post you flip-flop on your opinion... That's trolling. Smart trolling, sure, but still trolling. When you actually have real news, just post it. But there is no news.

Since day one, I've been showing nothing but pure hype for these movies, so I honestly have no clue where you're getting this "trolling" idea from.🤷
Before this, all the trolling was just straight-up hating on the movie, which is different from my take.

Case closed.

🤔

Look, you’re being provocative here because you’re acting like nobody loves any movie as much as you love the latest Alien. Or maybe Star Wars. You clearly don't know the people here. You have no clue how much users actually care about the movies they love watching.

Nah, I'm talking about those times when one person is a true fan and someone else won't let them express that passion consistently, especially since we're dealing with a franchise that's still very much alive. 🤷

Drama queen.

You guys are the ones making it dramatic. Acting like your entire world is ending just because of some discourse on a movie thread... honestly, even elementary schoolers have more chill than this, for Christ's sake.
