So, I have sensation and mobility right in my right thumb, but a specific patch of skin feels completely numb to touch, pain, or heat. It’s honestly like that weird sensation you get when your hand falls asleep and stays numb for a while.

I’ve been dealing with this for several days now, though I’m not entirely sure why it started. I suppose it might just be from getting too cold or maybe some frostbite, but I wonder if there could be a possibility that it's something more serious?

It has been a few days since this began, but I haven't noticed any positive improvement yet.

I tried searching for a similar thread here, but I wasn't particularly successful in my search. Thanks in advance for any help.

Looks like nobody here actually has an answer for you 😁 honestly, I'm just as lost as everyone else...

You really ought to go see a doctor—just see what they have to say, then come back and share the experience here because, frankly, I'm curious too about what the diagnosis ends up being.

I don't want to play doctor or anything, but it could be something like a blocked artery—you know, where the blood flow just gets cut off entirely. If that’s the case, you really need to act fast... you don't want to end up in a situation where they're talking about amputation because of gangrene.

I find it somewhat puzzling that I'm not experiencing any pain or visible skin reactions; everything seems to be functioning quite normally, except for a specific area near my joint where there is a total lack of sensation. It covers a surface of about 3 square inches.

It's located between the first and second joints on the outer side of my thumb. I suppose I just don't quite understand 🐔

It sounds like you might be dealing with some nerve compression. Try massaging your palm and wrist; if you start feeling those sensations, that’s likely the culprit. That said, you aren't going to get much relief without seeing a physical therapist.
