Is there a subforum for Lowe's?

Is there any actual chance we could get an LGBT subforum set up here on Lowe's?

There’s honestly a ton of high-quality discussion happening around these topics lately, and it feels wrong to have every single thread just lumped into one specific gay interest category.
The bottom line is that not everyone in the LGBT community wants to hang out exclusively on niche sites like Grindr or specialized dating forums.
By creating a dedicated space here, people could start some really meaningful conversations, and it would also give straight users a chance to weigh in with their own perspectives—whether positive or negative—which is something you just don't get on those segregated queer forums.

To get the PDF feature up and running, we’re going to need a decent amount of active threads on the board. I can touch base with the moderators to see what kind of interest there is, and then we can figure out if we should spin off some specific sub-forums from this general LGBTQ+ section.

We’ve touched on topics regarding transgender issues and sexuality a few times lately, but nothing really gained much traction. Personally, I don't have any issues with it at all. In fact, I actually think the idea is pretty great!

Regarding... A hangout spot for gay guys! He should spend more time chatting in the general discussion threads instead of just focusing on LGBTQ+ topics. Honestly, I can't even remember the last time I linked a specific gay topic to this one. Usually, it’s the other way around! Most of the regular members just drop their questions right here in this thread rather than taking the initiative to start a brand-new topic.

I honestly don't think we have enough active LGBT members to pull off an entire dedicated PDF group just yet. That said, there might be enough interest for a few high-quality, specific topics. Personally, I’d be pretty stoked if something like that actually happened! 😁

Same here. It would make sense if Lowe's stuff stayed on the main board and the adult content moved to 18+, but maybe that's just too much work.😁

I get that it’s a massive undertaking, but if it’s such a mess, why not just scrap that subforum entirely?
Or at least do something about it?
The threads are basically just scattered everywhere without any real sense of organization.

They're all incredibly similar topics, yet they're spread out across completely different sections of Lowe's.

Look, I don't see any real need for Lowe's either—unless we're talking about an 18+ PDF section (the only reason I even swing by there is for the BDSM stuff). Maybe it makes sense to hide the extra graphic content from casual readers who aren't registered or participating, or just from those of us 🙂 who have zero interest in seeing that kind of crude stuff...

They're all pretty similar topics, just tucked away in different corners of Lowe's.

Honestly, I don't see the resemblance at all. The first two are actually serious and somewhat educational, whereas the last couple are basically just open invitations for trolls and total bullshit, IMO. 🙂

LJS (18+) was launched primarily to carve out a space for "adult" content since Google is pushing for that kind of separation, especially given their specific advertising policies and other requirements. I can't really dive too deep into the technicalities because that isn't my department, but honestly, just like Richard Nelson84 mentioned, I don't think we have quite enough material yet to justify opening up a dedicated PDF solely for the LGBT community—at least not at this stage.

I’m the one who started the PTSD topic in the 18+ section myself. Nobody moved it there. Honestly, I don't see any reason why they would!

I can't really speak to those two examples. The 18+ section was set up before I stepped into the moderator role!

Editing a PDF isn't the issue here. The real headache is that once topics get moved over there, they go completely dead overnight. They switch from being super active to totally ghost towns. If you ask me, I'd rather we just don't move anything at all.

I don't see how leaving specific threads in the 18+ section helps anyone, especially when it's obvious they don't belong there.

This has absolutely nothing to do with how that PDF is organized. The 18+ section is such a tiny file with hardly any active threads, so there’s zero chance of anyone getting confused. Nobody is going to stop posting just because the layout isn't exactly to their liking. 😁

One of the real issues here is that that specific section is hidden from unregistered users, and there are tons of them. At one point, the entire PDF was invisible to guests. It’s honestly no surprise they rolled that back so quickly.

If you aren't logged in or don't check the site much, you won't be able to see the LJS 18+ section.

It seems there aren't any clear, logical criteria being used right now—so I'm wondering if there's any room for improvement there.
