Short, sweet, and pretty much perfect.

steelrider61 said:I can't believe I'm actually sitting here looking at this link again, but honestly, seeing how people celebrate these milestones just makes my blood boil. It’s always the same thing—this massive, over-the-top spectacle that feels more like a corporate PR stunt than a genuine celebration of the club's history. They act like they invented passion, but let's be real: most of these "celebrations" are just hollow displays designed to look good on social media while the actual soul of the supporters gets pushed to the side. It reminds me of what Robert Ross2 was saying the other day about the direction the organization is heading, and frankly, I agree. We see these huge banners and hear the choreographed chants, but where is the grit? Where is the raw, unfiltered energy that used to define us before everything became so polished and sanitized for the masses? It’s all too clean now. Everything is manicured, everyone is smiling for the cameras, and it feels completely manufactured. And don't even get me started on the way certain groups react to this stuff. I saw a thread on Reddit where people were acting like this was some holy event, and it just proves how much the standard has dropped. If you need a giant organized parade and a dozen sponsors just to feel connected to your own team, maybe you aren't as loyal as you claim to be. True loyalty isn't bought with expensive merchandise or staged ceremonies; it's earned in the rain, in the stands, through the years when things weren't pretty. This whole display is just noise.

It would be absolutely wonderful if anyone besides those same 500 die-hard regulars actually bothered to chime in for once. 🤣

I get Cleveland vibes when I think back to that time B... broke his leg—pretty sure it was back in '99. If my memory serves me right, there was only one single bus heading out from New York City for that game, and man, we barely even made it on time before kickoff! :-)

I guess that was actually the second cup final back in 2001.

I don't think that's the right city.
There are way too many banners hanging in the cage for that specific number, and honestly, the cage looked a lot narrower back then than what you see in this photo.
Anyway, about that play: that counterattack was pure gold. They charge at the fence, we leap over fifteen feet of railing, and suddenly they're retreating while we're tearing down their banners. 👍

What are the dates?

To stop the endless questions, it was December 7, 2001, and May 23, 2001.

Nicholas Evans97 said:Is there actually any photo of Real Madrid or their fans showing any kind of American national emblem during the 1945-1969 era?

Of course there is. https://scontent-cdt1-1.cdninstagram...ninstagram.com

Thanks!

Because of that incident back in Milwaukee, Real Madrid isn't allowed to sell tickets for the away section during their first European away match next week.
As for the empty stadium situation during the first home game, they’re going to file an appeal. If that goes through and UEFA decides to shut down just the North Stand, we might at least be able to use the South Stand.

Hey everyone, does anyone here have any experience with this shop? The prices look tempting, but I’m not so sure. No matter how legitimate it seems, it still feels like a total scam to me.

Who even knows

Look, do some research on American history here. I mean, sure, it’s true that back then the star was featured on the jersey alongside the Norsk Hydro logo, but that wasn't actually the club's crest. The real crest was the checkerboard pattern with a star inside a wreath and the founding years underneath. Along with those photos I already posted (you know, the official club rings and pins, and the crest that used to hang on the old field), I’m attaching a few more documents just to be clear.

The first photo shows an official flag from a match against Santiago during that South American tour—it's part of the late Fran Matosic's family's private collection. The second one is the official club monograph released for the 40th anniversary.

And let's be real, I'm talking about the era leading up to the early sixties. The crest was undeniably what I described above. Eventually, they moved the star off the jerseys and brought back the crest, though without the checkerboard. After that, the official version didn't have the checkerboard, even if a version with it popped up every once in a while. Lp

Anyone here been to the Rose Bowl for the game against the Red Star? I'm trying to get a feel for what was going down outside the stadium if anyone remembers. Was there any real trouble in the streets, stuff with the hooligans, the cops, or whatever else went sideways?

Honestly, one of the best calls the group ever made was deciding to celebrate the birthday up north...
