It's only day one. We already have about 15 people here. As the days go by, more people will show up. There's really no need to force five extra tracks right now. Since the nomination deadline isn't until August 15th, everyone can still toss in one extra suggestion then.

Honestly, you're even more likable now—though, if I'm being completely honest, you were already there before. 🙂 That first "Love and Fashion" album is an absolute gem from that era, easily one of the best.

Par Valjak will almost certainly show up, and while I never really experienced Far Coast (nor Midnight Express) as part of that old regional scene, technically speaking, with their first album plus those older demos, they fit right in. I feel quite bad now for leaving them out. Just mentioning Roz or Pink or Night and the legendary Tonka immediately transports me back to those summer days, not to mention those unforgettable Far Coast concerts, especially at the Colored venue in Split.

It’s a shame I can't pick at least two from the same artist, because even if that old regional rock and pop scene drives me crazy, I'd have to include some stuff from Azra or Far Coast. There's just something about the magic of Split—there's a vibe in Far Coast and their songs that just translates perfectly to life in the City.

I'd also throw in Nightingale (maybe my personal favorite, though most people don't know them), Nema Te, Lažne Žene...

On the flip side, I never actually experienced Prljavo Kazalište or Čorba, and honestly, not even EKV.

If I’m being honest—and I suppose I should be, given my affinity for the sea—my absolute favorite has to be "Sušac Blues." It just hits different. Aside from that, if I had to single anything out, "Stain" would definitely make the cut. And, well, once you've had a few drinks in you... it becomes all about "Tumba."🤣Everything. Just everything.

"Tumba" is an underrated classic—it's a shame more people don't appreciate it; it always feels like that choir of drunken voices is missing.😁

And since I love asking this of anyone who listens to Far, here goes again: Rank the songs by Far that are named after women, from best to worst. And just so we're clear, nobody is going to convince me that Roz is better than Tonka 😁

It’ll be much easier for those jumping in later, since some of the heavy hitters will already be on the board.

The issue is that today's mainstream listeners only know a handful of Far tracks, so naturally, Tumba feels like some obscure exotic rarity to them.

Sušac is essential listening for any sailor.

It isn't inaccurate at all—not even close—everything stated there is correct. The issue, I suppose, is just one's perspective on it. I tend to look at things through the lens I mentioned earlier, which caused a bit of a muddle.

I was actually wondering if the author intended to cover the entire spectrum from start to finish, but once I noticed most people immediately jumped to the pre-war acts—specifically the New Wave crowd—I decided to stick to my own definition of "songs from the old Yugoslavia."

For me, Tonka and Gordana are sitting right at the top—after them, I’d say Rosa takes the next spot, and then everything else is pretty much up in the air depending on the day.

On another note, kudos to whoever started this thread. Things have been a bit slow lately, I suppose, but these discussions always seem to spark some really great conversations and a good sense of community. 👍
