As for all those Kimi Rรคikkรถnen haters, I bet they're probably listening to this over a few beers right about now...

There's only one winner in this game, and everyone else is just part of the pack...
And here I was, thinking fifth place was basically just as good as a win! ๐ ๐คฃ

Perhaps eleven? ๐

If you look at how Ferrari has handled Alonso as their lead driver all these years versus their actual win and podium count this season... I mean, someone please just run the math for me. I'm feeling a little buzzed right now and honestly, calculating percentages is the last thing I want to do.

Quick correction on my "right up there with winning" quote earlier... :dmw:

Edward Howard2 said:I simply cannot wrap my head around why everyone seems to be celebrating second place as if it were a championship title. Is it not a bit much? ๐คท
If anyone in this community was busy celebrating a second, fifth, or even sixth-place finish, then they are clearly part of the Fernando Alonso faithful. Is it not a bit hypocritical to act so utterly shocked when someone celebrates taking second place after a direct, head-to-head battle with the Mecama cars on track? We have to acknowledge the reality of the situation: the Mecama is quite simply the superior car right now, and that is an undeniable fact.
Edward Howard2 said:In the grand scheme of things, isn't it true that there can only be one true victor, while everyone else simply falls into the category of those who failed to reach the summit?
One might argue that there exists a profound, fundamental distinction between finishing in second place versus eleventh, yet I find myself harboring certain doubts regarding whether you possess the necessary capacity to truly grasp the weight of such a difference.
Edward Howard2 said:Let me know when someone finally steps up to that podium to wave from Lewis's usual spot. ๐ Sebastian Vettel has already managed to pull off that kind of feat earlier this season, hasn't he? Yet, when it comes to this particular driver, everyone seems to be treating a second-place finish like itโs some sort of monumental triumph. Is it possible we have simply become overly accustomed to seeing certain names at the top, or are we truly witnessing a shift in the competitive landscape? ๐ And that was all presented on a silver platter, wasn't it? ๐
Who exactly handed him that victory on a silver platter? Was it Kimi Rรคikkรถnenโs blistering race pace? Of course it was. Was it a drive executed with absolute, flawless precision? Naturally. Was it Kimi Rรคikkรถnenโs sheer, undeniable talent? Yes, indeed, yes, and yes.
Edward Howard2 said:Is there anything more satisfying than watching a veteran masterclass unfold right before our eyes? It seems that today, Kimi Rรคikkรถnen didn't just compete; he absolutely dismantled Rosberg on the track. Even the great maestro himself managed to leave him in the dust, proving once again that experience and raw instinct can overcome any modern technical advantage. Doesn't it just make you wonder how much more we'll see from these legends if they keep pushing like this?
How much use does my short-term memory actually serve me? It seems Iโve forgotten the specifics, yet I recall that Kimi Rรคikkรถnen crossed the finish line ahead of both of them. Honestly, if I am not mistaken, I believe the Spaniard was actually left in the dust by him for an entire lap, which is quite a thing to contemplate, isn't it? Does such a realization not bother you? ๐
And then there is this one particular statistic that truly highlights just how significant todayโs race is, not only for the history of Formula 1 itself, but perhaps most importantly for those of us who have remained steadfastly loyal to Kimi Rรคikkรถnen through all his ups and downs.
Is there anything more profoundly captivating than the pursuit of that singular, fleeting moment of perfection known as the Fastest Lap? I found myself wandering through the historical archives of Formula 1 today, specifically delving into the exhaustive chronicles of those drivers who managed to snatch that elusive accolade during a Grand Prix. One cannot help but wonder, as we sit here in the quietude of our own lives, what truly separates the merely great from the legendary? Is it a matter of sheer mechanical superiority, or perhaps a spiritual alignment between man and machine at the precise millisecond required? Looking at these lists, one begins to contemplate the immense pressure placed upon a driver to push their limits when the race is already decided, simply for the sake of a statistical footnote that carries such weight in the annals of history. Does the glory of a single lap truly resonate through the decades, or are we merely chasing ghosts in the machinery? It is a question that lingers, much like the scent of burnt rubber on a humid afternoon in Indianapolis.
Is it not truly remarkable when a driver manages to pull level with a legend like God? ๐
God, I am truly grateful to be a supporter of Kimi Rรคikkรถnen ๐

Coming in second... itโs never actually satisfying. You just end up staring at the guy in first thinking about what went wrong... turns out, being the runner-up is just a fancy way of saying you lost.
That's just Kimi Rรคikkรถnen...
That's the spirit...
He would've torched the whole car just to try and take first place... if he'd actually pulled it off...

That's just Kimi for you.
That's his whole spirit right there.
I mean, he probably would've torched the entire car just to try and take first place!!!
Honestly, this is one race I don't think anyone can ever really screw up...
It was basically win big or go home, but he's just sitting back there driving like a coward.
I guess the main issue is just how much nonsense the commentators spout. If he had actually pulled into the pits, he wouldn't have even been on the track anymore because the suspension was totally shot.

He would have driven that car straight into a fireball if it meant taking first place!
We actually witnessed this too:
What a guy.๐

Alexander Gonzalez79 said:Yeah, Vettel shaved 9 seconds off Valtteri Bottas' time incredibly fast, but the guy was absolutely terrible in the duel today. Not even worth discussing.
Letโs be real, Vettel had a pathetic day. A total, absolute disaster.๐คฆ
But honestly, it wasn't like Williams Racing could have done anything better, even if they'd had the best day ever. We've seen plenty of times now that the Williams is just the worst car on the grid for...
The issue is their exit out of the corners is so good that even DRS doesn't help. Honestly, I'd say they actually have a better shot against The Bear than Williams does in that department.
Just remember Malaysia and how they managed to hunt down The Bear in the DRS zone without any trouble, even with the same lap time gap, while Williams couldn't even get close.

Anthony Baker84 said:Just one potentially dumb question: why didn't they switch Vettel over to softs when he pitted for that new front wing?
They didn't have any fresh softs left. Even if they did, that stint wouldโve dragged on way too long anyway.
The only move was maybe letting him run with the busted wing for a few laps before pitting for both the wing and the softs...
But honestly? I doubt that would've helped much either.

Tyler Ross56 said:I don't think anyone has ever called this race quite the way it actually was...
Itโs basically a high-stakes gambleโgo big or go homeโand here he is driving like he's terrified of his own shadow.
The real issue is how much nonsense the commentators spin; if he had actually pulled into the pits, he wouldn't even be on the track right now because the suspension would have been completely shot.
Thatโs exactly the kind of energy weโre going to miss on the grid once that guy finally hangs it up. Maybe a young Max will show that same level of insanityโwe'll just have to wait and see, though it might be a bit early to tell.
Itโs that specific dose of madnessโit's all or nothing, first place or bust, zero hesitation, no math involved. Itโs a gut feeling... and sometimes it pays off, and sometimes it absolutely doesn't.
There are certain drivers who will simply never possess that quality; they might rack up the wins, but they'll always lack that "X" factor. Now, I'm certainly not saying they aren't talentedโthey are exceptional, trulyโbut Finac is just plain wild.
And yet, today he steps out onto the podium and gives a speech along the lines of, "Yeah, it could have gone better." ๐คฃ

jadeseal7 said:If he had pitted one lap earlier, maybe even a Black Catholic would be cheering him on.
True. Unfortunately, we're watching the NBA. On the other hand, I enjoyed myself. ๐
When is that Farson race happening? I can hardly wait. ๐

Honestly, Iโm still scratching my head over what happened during that race in the USA... after everything went down, we all pretty much expected a repeat of the 2014 season, right? But instead, Bear is absolutely cooking those brakes just to stay ahead of Franklin.

What a way to finish ๐๐คฃ
I mean, screw his Ford, wasn't that a Ricky engine anyway?
A penalty already by race 5 of the season? ๐คฆ
