Maybe, but I don't see why he'd let him live. 🤔

I've seen the movie dozens of times—the guy definitely killed him.

For me, nothing beats the original Predator.👍

If I had to rank them, it would go like this:👍

1. Predator
2. Predators
3. Predator 2

Honestly, I don't even count the Aliens vs Predator movies as part of the actual Predator franchise. Personally, I thought both of them were pretty damn terrible.👎

It would essentially be a ranking.👍

Predator.
Predators
Let’s talk about Predator 2. It’s one of those films that people love to tear apart—usually because they expect it to be a carbon copy of the original—but if you actually sit down and look at what it’s trying to do, there is a lot more going on under the hood than most casual viewers give it credit for. The shift in setting alone changes the entire DNA of the series. Moving from the dense, green jungle to the concrete labyrinth of a sprawling American metropolis like Los Angeles completely alters the tension. In the first movie, the threat was primal—nature versus man. Here, the Predator is an urban hunter, navigating skyscrapers and subway tunnels. It turns the hunt into something much more claustrophobic and unpredictable. You aren't just worried about being ambushed by a bush; you're worried about the predator being anywhere from a penthouse balcony to a dark alleyway. Then there’s the matter of the creature itself. The evolution of the design is interesting—it's more "alien" now, less purely animalistic, which adds this layer of sci-fi mystery that wasn't as present before. Some people find the pacing a bit off, and I get that—it doesn't have that same relentless, driving momentum as the first one—but I think the slower build-up allows the sense of dread to settle in. It’s less about the adrenaline spike and more about the creeping realization that the city itself has become a hunting ground. I know it won't win any popularity contests against the original, but if you approach it as its own distinct entity rather than a sequel meant to repeat a formula, there’s a hell of a lot to appreciate. It’s gritty, it’s messy, and it’s got a specific atmosphere that sets it apart from almost everything else in the genre.

I don't even consider the Alien vs Predator movies to be part of the Predator franchise—not in my book. As far as I’m concerned, both of them were absolute disasters.👎

👍

You really should have included that secondary voiceover from Predators—it’s honestly painful watching it like this without the audio track to ground the scene. 🤣

The original Predator film is an absolute classic; nothing else even comes close. I think Predator 2 is actually a really solid movie, too—definitely one I enjoy revisiting. I wasn't really feeling Predators, though; I thought the performances from Brody and Fishburne were pretty weak in that one. As for AVP, the first one is decent enough, especially looking back on it after all this time. But AVP2? That was just straight-up garbage. Like someone else already mentioned, the whole thing is just pitch black; you can't see a damn thing...

Honestly, this thread is kinda redundant since everyone's already vented about this stuff everywhere else here.

And there it is—my first vote in being labeled "hyperactive."
I explained my reasoning for opening the thread, and besides, a discussion like this can always serve as a general hub for talking about the Predator price and the movies in general.

What Predator(1987) really levels up as a masterpiece is that insane sound mix in dd5.1—especially the DTS. It’s just such an immersive vibe. Honestly, besides >, this is my absolute favorite. If you’ve got a solid hi-fi setup and a > copy (that ultimate hunter edition), you're set. 🙂🙏
I didn't really feel like starting a whole new thread, but here are a few other flicks where the sound engineers absolutely crushed it: Master and Commander, Children of Men, Collateral, The Dark Knight, U-571, Gladiator, and Total Recall.
And if we're talking more recent stuff, check out The Raid, Berendal, and >.

Etogac, two votes. 😁 There weren't any duels. The original is obviously first in line. 🙏
I gave my second vote to Predator 2. Even if it's weaker than the original Predator, it's a decent film. I guess I liked the ending specifically. For some reason, it shows the predators play fair and respect their opponent enough to grant them victory. It was a good move. 👍

I watched AVP a long time ago, though I don't think I even finished it. I have bad memories of it. I ignored the second one. ☕

I saw Predators recently. It isn't bad, but maybe I only say that because the director is mimicking the original. Since he's copying something good, the result is solid, though it probably would have been a better movie if someone else had the lead role. Brody doesn't fit here; I guess he isn't built for those kinds of characters.

My vote goes, without any shred of doubt or even much deliberation, to the original Predator (1987). 👍

The atmosphere is superb, the action is top-tier, the soundtrack is incredible, and the Predator is certainly worthy of its reputation (Winston once again 🙏), not to mention the stellar casting. I suppose if Michael Biehn had been in the mix, it might have been even better 😁 😁. If my memory serves, there were apparently security guards hovering around the lead actors during filming just to prevent any actual brawls from breaking out. 😁 I imagine that level of testosterone packed into one room inevitably has certain consequences. 😁

As for the rest, I don't really consider them part of the Predator Universe at all. Perhaps Predators counts, though I suppose I should probably watch it again to be sure.

Predator 2 was a disappointment to me on every conceivable level. It might hold some sentimental value for certain people—which is fine, I guess—but as a film, I found it terrible. It was a decent concept—a Predator in the city—but the execution was quite poor. Between the casting and the direction, nothing really worked for me, especially not Glover. When you consider that Arnold's entire unit was wiped out and Arnold barely managed to take down the Predator, it feels somewhat unconvincing that Glover could wrap things up so easily with that little predator boomerang.

Predator 2 definitely has its own cult moments...
That line "Fuckin' voodoo magic, man" is basically a goldmine for techno producers looking for that perfect sample. 😁

The first one? Pure, heavy-duty enjoyment. The plot actually felt relevant for its era, too. Honestly, I could pop that one on again right now and never get bored.
The second installment—solid enough, sure, but it doesn't even come close to the original.
As for Predators—nothing special. I just couldn't get into it, despite the stellar cast, the action sequences, and the setup.
AVP: Aliens vs Predator was an interesting ride and pretty thrilling. It’s not a masterpiece, but it definitely isn't trash.
I haven't actually sat down to watch Aliens vs Predator: Requiem yet, so I can't give you my own take, though I've seen what others are saying about the quality.

So, I was just sitting here thinking about how crazy things have been lately, and it got me spiraling down this rabbit hole regarding the whole History of Predator. Like, seriously, when you step back and look at the entire timeline, isn't it wild how much this one franchise has shifted since it first hit theaters? It’s one of those rare cases where a single concept can just completely redefine an entire genre of sci-fi horror. I mean, think about where it all started. You had that raw, gritty tension that just felt so visceral, and then you watch how everything evolved through the sequels and spin-offs. It’s such a massive journey, right? One minute you're dealing with that intense, high-stakes survival vibe, and the next, you're looking at how they tried to mash up different universes or push the boundaries of what a hunter even is. Every time a new entry drops, you can't help but wonder if they'll actually capture that lightning in a bottle again, or if they're just going to lean on nostalgia. It makes you wonder, though—does anyone else feel like the sheer scale of the Predator Universe is almost too big to handle sometimes? There are so many different directions they could take it, from pure action to psychological dread, yet it feels like we're still searching for that perfect sweet spot. It’s honestly fascinating to track how the fans' perception has changed over the decades, especially considering how iconic some of those early moments were. Is it just me, or does the legacy of this thing feel more heavy and significant every time we revisit it?

Man, this is such an interesting watch, especially if you haven't actually sat down to dive into the Predator franchise yet or even caught just a few of them!

It’s pretty much a slam dunk. The only real reason to watch is Arnold Schwarzenegger, especially that final showdown against the Predator.

Honestly, I don't really get why predator 2 gets such a bad rap from critics, because in my opinion, it’s way more underrated than people give it credit for.

I’d give the first one an 8.5/10.
The second one gets an 8/10.
The rest isn't really worth mentioning; I can't even remember the AVP movies well enough to give them a score, and I'm in the same boat with the 2010 predator film.
I watched this new one just a few months ago, so it's still pretty fresh in my mind. For now, the new one is a 4.5/10.
