I honestly feel like I got banned unfairly just because of my takes—specifically regarding the basketball teams and players I root for. Most of my warnings were over things that everyone else on this forum discusses daily. Even all three mods reached out to me about stuff that one of them was actually involved in personally.

Basically, if I posted something critical about a team's front office, I’d get flagged for trolling, even though a moderator can say the exact same thing without any issues.

Another thing—after I called out a certain member for their comments once, I got warned for "targeting" them because they're supposedly a "model user." Meanwhile, that same guy gets to talk down to people in threads telling them to "watch their mouth." And yeah, he's still active here, insulting everyone...

In my opinion, moderators should stay neutral, but looking at their posts, it's pretty obvious they have some serious biases when deciding who's breaking the rules and who isn't...

Best regards,

Before we dive into any actual heavy lifting here, I just want to clear one thing up—is this appeal basically a request to lift a partial ban, or are we just talking about an appeal against some standard moderation bullshit?

Alex Cook, if he hasn't caused too much damage, just let him post about basketball.

The whole forum isn't going to fall apart just because of one user.

I drop by there occasionally and I haven't noticed anything crazy happening; everyone behaves perfectly fine. Let him stay, on the condition that he roots for the Thunder.🎉

I was such a huge fan back when the Thunder had Gary Payton and Shawn Kemp—or even that Ray Allen 2007 era. Honestly, the current roster just doesn't really do it for me lately.🙂

Back when those guys were with the SuperSonics, we’re talking about the Shawn Kemp and Gary Payton era from '89 to '98. Then you've got Ray Allen 2007. I know they weren't playing for the Thunder, because the franchise didn't even move to OKC and rebranded as the Thunder until the 2007-08 season.

Alex Cook, give it a rest and just let him play basketball. What are you all waiting for? Why is there such a long delay on the response?

I really think the moderators need to sit down and get on the same page about a few things. Decisions regarding partial bans shouldn't be rushed through without thought, and the exact same logic applies when it comes to deciding to lift them. Just hang tight and let things settle for a bit.

If they handle things the same way they split up the snacks at the stadium—where rival fans just spam reports and the mods auto-ban without even checking what actually happened—then man, we're in for a rough ride...

Hey, Gary Palmer8. Sorry it took me forever to get back to you—my phone’s been acting up, my real life has been absolutely slammed lately (seriously, #moderatorsarehuman too, #freeAlex Cook), and before I knew it, two weeks had just vanished...

I'm gonna ask rustydrifter10 to lift your ban from the basketball subforum, but I need a few things from you first—keep the whining to a minimum, try not to jump into—or heaven forbid, start—pointless arguments, and we can all just move on happily. Seems like pretty low bars to clear, right? 🤷

Just so we're clear, lifting a partial ban means you'll be under the microscope for a bit. If it looks like nothing has changed in how you carry yourself or how you talk to the other users here, that ban could come right back without any warning...

Anyway, that's about it. Welcome back, and let's hope this is the last time we have to deal with this whole situation... 🙂

Alright, I went ahead and cleared out a little bit of the area. Just a quick heads-up though—please don't forget what Alex Cook mentioned earlier, because if we have to do this again, I don't think that second layer is going to come off nearly as easily as it did this time.

Mission accomplished to everyone's satisfaction, though I find myself quite restless. 👍
