About the movie:
Finally, a decent film within this genre. It managed to pull a tear from me a few times due to the heavy subject matter, though the ending left me genuinely angry because of how bleakly it concludes... Still, I recommend it. Even if you aren't a fan of romances—which makes up the core of this story—the way life's hardships impact the pair and that finality of death...
After Dawson rescues two coworkers from an offshore oil rig explosion out in the Gulf, he’s hailed as a hero. But the blast sends him 300 meters into the ocean, where he survives four hours without succumbing to hypothermia. Upon hitting the water, Dawson loses consciousness, his mind drifting through memories of his youth and Amanda, the woman he loved deeply.
Once rescued, he wakes up in a hospital, only to receive a call upon returning home to attend a probate hearing following Tuck's death. Amanda receives the same call, leading to their reunion after 21 years. Through various flashbacks, the film illustrates Tuck's role in their lives and how they first met.
