I feel like my immune system just completely tanked after giving birth, and honestly, the hair loss was probably the biggest shock of it all, even if it wasn't quite as physically agonizing as some of the other things I had to deal with. 😁

Hey, anyone else dealt with their period coming in waves?
It’s been about 5 months since I gave birth, but my cycle hits every 10 days or so. It isn't heavy or painful, just lasts maybe 3 or 4 days...
Had a checkup a few months back and the OB says my ovaries haven't really kicked back into gear yet. That was like 2.5 months ago, and I guess I'm still just trying to get things balanced out.
I am breastfeeding... maybe that triggers contractions and makes me bleed more often?
I don't know....

I'm not sure if this will actually be helpful to you,
but my cycles have shortened drastically—dropping from about 28–30 days down to just 23–25. I mentioned it to my OBGYN, and they basically told me it’s fine as long as they stay regular and don't skip months entirely.

Ever since my period finally returned (about two months after I gave birth), my cycles have been "regular," meaning they stay consistently short, but I haven't had any spotting in between.

dustycobra22, just so you know, you can experience bleeding after giving birth that feels exactly like a period, but it’s actually just hormonal fluctuations rather than your cycle returning. I dealt with some spotting about three months postpartum, and my doctor explained it wasn't my actual period because my uterine lining hadn't thickened enough yet. He predicted my first real period wouldn't show up for another three or four months... and sure enough, it finally arrived at the four-month mark.

I had a checkup at the clinic a few months back, and the doctor mentioned my ovaries haven't quite returned to their normal rhythm yet. It’s been 2.5 months since then, and I'm still trying to find my baseline.
I am breastfeeding... I wonder if that triggers contractions and causes this frequent bleeding??
I really don't know....

As long as you're breastfeeding, everything is perfectly normal—even if you get your period twice in one month or skip it entirely for months at a time. At least, that's what my OB-GYN told me.🙂
