Alright, fine, I guess I'll give it a shot!

wiredtinker8 said:Hey there. I'm an 18-year-old girl.
Like the title says, I want to know how to build strength—in my biceps or legs, for instance—but without those areas actually getting "bigger," because I don't really like that look on girls, even though I still want to be stronger in those spots. 🙄
I've been hitting the gym for a little while now, and I've noticed my legs are already starting to get that slightly "bulky" shape, so I'm worried they'll just keep getting wider over time...
I heard you're supposed to do cardio along with lifting, is that actually true?
And is it better to do cardio first, like running, or stick to the weights first?

Maybe do a little digging into the actual benefits of training, then grab a pen and paper and map out the pros and cons of working out versus staying sedentary... ask yourself what you actually gain by having tiny little leg muscles. Unless you're planning on walking a runway and losing a massive contract worth thousands of dollars if your legs get any stronger, it's probably not worth the worry...

Well... I’ve definitely noticed a massive surge in my energy levels—though, interestingly enough, my body feels like it has "shrunk" overall.

If you’re really looking to get those calves popping, I guess you could just try what someone else mentioned earlier about lifting up onto your toes while you're standing there.
It feels like there's a bit too much repetition going on here, though.
Also, I was thinking that using a stepper might be another good way to beef up your calves, too.
