PDF membership details

I'm pretty new here, and I guess I'm just struggling to wrap my head around why people actually bother signing up for these subreddits—like, what's the actual point?

I don't really feel the need to join any specific groups since I can read and comment on everything regardless, so if I sign up, I suppose I’m just gaining things I already have anyway. 🤔

If you look at this PDF, the "complaint messages" have numbers in parentheses—those are just the forum member counts, like 7, or 75, 80, 46, and so on.

I guess I'll go see what's actually going on; if there aren't any free samples involved, then I might as well not bother.
