Hey everyone!
So, I just treated myself to a brand new build with a Corsair RM850x, but now I'm hitting a bit of a snag because the video port on the rig doesn't match my monitor setup at all! I'm totally lost and really don't want to waste money on some random adapter that won't actually work, you know? Does anyone know what I should grab so I can actually get an HDMI signal running and see my screen? I'd love to avoid buying something useless.

Monitor

No GPU in this build?
And is that just the full I/O layout from the motherboard?

Can you list the specs? That Corsair is just the case name.

No HDMI or DisplayPort available?

If that's the case, you're going to need an active DVI-D to VGA converter, something like this:

Man, I just checked and it turns out there's actually no dedicated graphics card in this thing at all! It’s basically running on nothing but integrated graphics, which is wild if you think about it.
Man, I just checked the back of this thing and realized there’s absolutely no HDMI port to be found—it’s strictly DVI only!
Man, I even went out and grabbed an adapter thinking that would fix everything, but nope—turns out that wasn't the magic fix I was hoping for either! Total bummer.

So you grabbed an adapter like this and it's a dud? I guess your only real options now are picking up an active converter or just buying a whole new monitor...

That passive converter isn't going to do squat, because from what I can see, there aren't even any analog pins on the computer's DVI port.

So, I went ahead and did some more digging to get a second opinion on everything, and honestly? I've decided I'm gonna scrap this whole build and just grab a laptop instead. It just makes way more sense for me right now!

Regarding that laptop build, are you even sure about what you need? 😁

I honestly just need it for some basic, everyday stuff, nothing crazy

It depends on how much you want to bleed for it. If you’re just sitting there grinding at a static desk all day, honestly, sticking with a desktop and a decent monitor is the more reliable play. $267 Either grab a used one that already has a DVI port and call it a day, or drop $150 on an adapter. Your choice.$67)

Let's say.

Cheaper.
Check out this Acer monitor on Amazon. Looks decent.
