Partial credit for political science?

I’d love to hear everyone's thoughts on the current state of the political subreddits. Honestly, what’s been going on lately just doesn't feel right, does it?

It seems like one side is constantly getting hit with warnings, bans, or deleted posts, while the other side gets a free pass to say whatever they want, from blatant insults to relentless trolling. The criteria being applied are incredibly biased; I truly believe there isn't a single thread on this entire platform where you won't find such glaring double standards.

Most of the conservative or right-leaning users have already moved on from this site because they refuse to participate in this kind of environment, and while I know I could easily just stay quiet, I find myself tempted to speak up—only to risk getting a warning or a ban simply because my views don't align with the moderators' ideology.

What is the actual purpose of targeting users who don't echo the moderators' opinions? I suppose the goal is to transform this community into a complete echo chamber where no conservative or right-wing perspectives are allowed to exist, which is perfectly fine if you actually believe that's a healthy or balanced way to run an online space.

There are two moderators who are actually fair and professional, but that's far too few to make a difference.

Conservatives seem to have a real affinity for playing the victim, even when they actually hold the majority. That’s probably the only generalization I can offer right now.

Our moderation criteria are clearly laid out in the subreddit rules. We don't deviate from them. Insults, trolling, or hate speech disguised as "personal opinion" won't pass, and they never will. This isn't the first time that intense public debates over worldview issues have emboldened certain users to go on these little crusades, forget the boundaries, and end up banned. It'll happen again.

Actually, if you look at threads regarding global perspectives, the vast majority of unremoved posts are right-wing without exception. Feel free to check for yourself if you don't believe me... 🍿

In any case, we have historically approved partial bans upon request. So, if Keith Miller30 wants to join the ranks of those attempting to use this as a tool for political maneuvering, I see no reason to deny him. Of course, there is the standing caveat: a partial ban is treated with the same weight regardless of how it was obtained. This means a minimum six-month period before any removal can be requested, no discussing the subreddit rules while under a partial ban, and absolutely no badgering us to lift it simply because it was granted on request.
