Drug testing labs for chemical composition and purity

Hi,

I was wondering if there’s anywhere in the US where I can submit a medication for testing—specifically, I want to compare two different versions of what should be the exact same drug, but they were sourced from different places.
Maybe at a private lab if I pay out of pocket?
I’ve been scouring the web for answers, but I can't find anything similar to what I'm looking for. Is it even possible to just request this on my own just to have the info for myself?

I'm sure it's possible, likely through a forensic lab. But fair warning: it's going to be an incredibly expensive endeavor. And when I say expensive, I mean eye-wateringly pricey. To run a deep analysis, you need specialized reagents to prove the presence of specific compounds, and those things cost a fortune—we're talking Saint Peter's breakfast money kind of prices...
Try calling Salat and the local coroner's office to ask around. If they can't help, they should at least point you toward someone who can.

First off, thanks for getting back to me so fast.
I’ll try giving them a call tomorrow, but my guess is that something like this would mostly go through them if there was a lawsuit involved.
I'll let everyone know if this info ends up being useful to anyone down the road.

And look, don't assume they won't help just because you aren't paying for a service. You can always file a private lawsuit and request specific expert testimony, which you'd fund yourself. If you actually win the case, the losing side is stuck with all the costs, including those expert fees, as far as I know. 😉

I get the whole situation, I just am not ready to drop a massive amount of cash on this. I have my limits. Hopefully, they can give me some solid advice on how to handle it...

If you haven't managed to get an answer to your question yet—especially since we're talking about medication (even if it's just a generic version)—your best bet is to give Halmed a call and ask them directly.

At the end of the day, I really think generics are just as good as the big-name brands... even the experts say so!

I’m picking up some medication from China, and I really want to run a quick test just to make sure what shows up at my door is actually what I ordered. Does anyone know a reliable lab in Chicago that could handle this kind of thing? This is all out-of-pocket, obviously—not something Medicare would ever touch.

Does anyone know where I can get a private chemical analysis done on some tablets? Specifically looking at PDE5 inhibitors—think Viagra, Kamagra, Levitra, Cialis. I’ve been using some stuff I picked up through unofficial online channels, and I want to run a lab test on the actual chemical composition just to see how close to the real deal they actually are.
