One Red Bull made it into Q3 and finished the session, while the other one slammed into a wall...

Taking everything into account, Romain Grosjean was excellent, and seeing Haas in such good form is a pleasant surprise. That little guy at Sauber was fantastic, too; honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if his performance today earned him a serious look for a more permanent seat.
The dominance shown by Mercedes and Hamilton isn't exactly a shocker, but it is incredibly demotivating to watch. I’m just hoping Vettel can get a decent start tomorrow.
Bottas, Stoffel Vandoorne, and Kimi all underperformed, while Jolyon Palmer was frankly embarrassing. As for Lance Stroll, he didn't even failβ€”he simply performed exactly as expected.

Little Giovinazzi jumped into the Williams Racing cockpit and nearly took out Motorola in the exact same car. πŸ™

Are you seriously trying to convince me that Ricciardo didn't make it into Q3? Just admit you messed upβ€”there's no way the Renault is faster than the Red Bull πŸ™‚

First lap of Q3!
Vettel and Hamilton are neck and neck through sectors one and two, but then Hamilton just rips it open, pulling almost three-tenths clear in sector three.
Vettel is looking a bit rough in that third sector, isn't he? πŸ€”

copperdrifter26 said:What are you even talking about? Lewis had a flawless session, while Vettel completely blew it in Q1 by just two-hundredths of a secondβ€”he looked just as gutted as the folks over at Ferrari.

It’s such a shame because Ferrari actually showed more pace in Q3, and they were neck-and-neck in Q2, which pretty much tells me their aero package might actually be the superior setup at Ferrari.

Ferrari held their own in Q2 and were faster in Q3, but they were noticeably lagging in Q1 throughout qualifying...

Mercedes was consistently way faster in Q1, but that final lap from both Ferraris was the closest anyone got to them in Q1 all session...
Maybe he thinks he could've been faster, but there's no way he missed out by just two-hundredths in Q1β€”Ferrari definitely doesn't have that kind of pace, not even close...

Ricciardo hit a wall...πŸ™‚
And honestly, a snail running a marathon would be faster than that car, so of course it's a Renault...😁

Why don't you just start rooting for Hamilton so we can actually have an interesting season?πŸŽ‰πŸ€£

Vettel actually has the fastest time in sector 3, so what's your point?
That’s basically the only sector where Kimi was even close to Hamilton and Bottasβ€”and somehow, miraculously, even Gozni is hovering near the top there...
It’s pretty obvious that third sector is mostly thanks to that new Ferrari Power Unit...

He finished Q2 first, which earned him the spot in Q3...
Honestly, what's the point of driving if you can't even finish a lap? If the lap doesn't exist, it doesn't count. πŸ™‚

Renault is surprisingly goodβ€”so good that I’m practically expecting free breakdowns on the Red Bull soon. πŸ™‚
Just so you know, Hulk clearly botched his Q2 lap; he's one of the rare ones who was actually slower in Q2 than in Q1. πŸ˜‰
With a 1:24.975 from Q1, he would've made it into Q3 and been ahead of Carlos Sainz, who somehow ended up ahead of Ricciardo. πŸ˜‰

I'm not even factoring Palmer into any of this. That guy doesn't even deserve to be in the paddock, let alone an F1 car. 🀦

Vettel made a bit of a mess during Q1, and then he went and did it even worse in Q2. He really should have walked away with pole position today. I mean, let’s be honest, it's pretty obvious to everyone watching that the Ferrari is looking faster than the Mercedes right now.

It feels like Mercedes isn't quite the untouchable force they used to be. I honestly think Ferrari is going to give them a serious run for their money this year, and judging by how qualifying went, they might already be closing the gap. The only real outlier might be Hamilton himself, since he's basically in a league of his own on the grid right now...
I was really hoping Kimi would show a lot more pace today, but he was a bit of a letdown out there. Hopefully, things turn around soon
Lance Stroll and Jolyon Palmer are honestly just a joke. I'm really hoping Williams makes up for all the damage these guys are going to cause them throughout the season

It’s a bit much, but can it pass? 😁

At this rate, Honda is going to end up begging Alonso to jump ship to Mercedes or somewhere else just so he stops making fun of them over the radio.

Ferrari has closed the gap during qualifying, so now we just have to hopeβ€”for the sake of the entire seasonβ€”that they can actually step up and be more competitive on Sunday than they were on Saturday. But I suppose we’ll find out tomorrow. Honestly, the idea that Vettel could have snatched pole feels a bit like a stretch; I highly doubt he was missing that much pace.
