Hey there,
So I picked up an NVIDIA GTX 275, but it won't actually fit in my Case.
It's a Micro ATX, though I don't have a clue which random model I grabbed at Best Buy. It isn't a Slim version.

Now... if I want this card to actually sit inside, I'm thinking I might need to hack away at the hard drive bay area. I'm only using one drive anyway, so I don't really care, and since it's screwed in from multiple sides, it probably won't just fall apart on me...
My question is, what should I use to cut through it?!? 🤷

Do you happen to have a screwdriver handy to unscrew that cage, or is it actually built into the Case? If it's integrated, you might just have to wing it—personally, I’d probably grab a hacksaw or a decent utility knife... Since you mentioned it's just some random case, it likely isn't high-end anyway, so cutting it out shouldn't be much of a hassle.

Since you mentioned it’s some random budget Case, it's probably not high quality anyway, so cutting it shouldn't be much of an issue.

Tried using some wire cutters... didn't work :/ And yeah, it's definitely welded shut.

I don't really have any actual tools lying around here at home.😢

So how exactly were you planning on pulling that off? If we're talking about spot welding, you could try using a chisel and a hammer, but you'll end up wrecking everything else.
And honestly, you aren't exactly winning the lottery by trying to cram a high-end GPU with a massive TDP into a Micro ATX case. Have you even thought about how you're going to handle the airflow?
Maybe it’s better to just stick your current setup into something else while it's still intact and pick up something more practical for yourself...

I've got an HAF X. It’ll definitely fit, no doubt about it. 😁

+1

You can't build anything without the right gear. 😁
