Don't bother overthinking the specs. You won't be able to run the game at max settings anyway. If you manage to pull off Medium settings, consider yourself lucky. 😁

If you're running short on RAM, the game is going to stutter regardless of whether you're playing on low or medium settings. It doesn't really matter how powerful your graphics card is at that point...

It’s kind of pointless trying to guess how much RAM GTA 5 is going to eat up, I guess. Since they haven't even released the official minimum specs yet, any numbers you hear are just pure speculation

Either grab a monitor with at least 1080p resolution and a DVI port, or look into the used market—for example, those Samsung 16:10 models with 1680x1050 resolution might work for you.

Can I find anything decent for $800/$333? What kind of gaming would actually look good on it (max 19 inches and Full HD)?

You won't find Full HD on a 19" monitor... you'd need at least a 22" for that.

I've had my BenQ GW2250 2 for about two years now, and it hasn't given me any trouble at all.

Do yourself a favor and throw at least a Spire Kepler (around $30) or an LC Cosmo 95 cooler into that rig

Regarding the monitor—you could grab that Dell UltraSharp monitor with the VA panel and DVI output, or this one if they don't have it in stock at Best Buy (which is pretty likely). Honestly, looking at anything brand new below that isn't worth your time, and even these options are a great deal

What's your take on that setup from McLovin?

Also, what do you think about those 19-inch ones with the 1600x900 resolution? Is there actually a huge difference compared to the 1920x1080 models??

It’s a solid build, though I do wonder how that 910e handles being downclocked when paired with mid-range GPUs during more demanding gaming sessions. You can think of the 760K as being roughly on par with a Phenom 955 BE in terms of gaming performance—plus, since the multiplier is unlocked, you have even more breathing room for overclocking... But honestly, that’s a moot point if you're shopping for Christmas; by then, those 910e units will likely be long gone... (those last few remaining pieces will probably be snapped up by enthusiasts still running older AM2+ or AM3 setups)

Man, where even is Christmas 😁

I guess watching 22" monitors with Full HD is probably the best bang for your buck right now.
