Anyone else see it?

I went today.

Honestly, it was just mediocre. The wildest part was everyone sitting there waiting for the credits—because the movie doesn't actually show her dying. As soon as the end credits start rolling, people realize they were just waiting for the finish line 😂. And yeah, the ending is genuinely unexpected 🤣.

Also, Kidman just doesn't work as Grace Kelly. Someone else should have been cast in that role. I tried to think of a better fit, but nothing came to mind 🤷.

Maybe Diana Agron or Gwyneth Paltrow (assuming we exclude the one who constantly wears 🙂)...

I thought the movie was alright. It wasn't exactly groundbreaking or anything—nothing to write home about—but it was decent enough to watch.

I'm not sure who would be a good fit for Grace. She was such a classic beauty, whereas Paltrow doesn't quite have that look—she feels a bit plain to me. I guess it was a poor casting choice!

Not her either. She needs to be a classic beauty, but not some fragile little thing... and a blonde, obviously. Think along the lines of Catherine Deneuve back in her prime (look, I get she can't play her now that she's older, but I'm using her as an example of the kind of actress who could have pulled off Grace Kelly):

Grace

And now Kidman:

That’s just not it. And neither are the others people have suggested.

In my opinion, she doesn't just fail to look like Grace—she completely missed the mark on her actual character. It's just a bad imitation.

Catherine Deneuve would've been perfect for that role visually. 😁

The bad stuff:

- acting (though Roth was worse as the prince than Kidman was as Kelly)
- the melodrama

The good stuff:

- the wardrobe (OMG 😍)
- the little details you might miss—didn't realize Charles de Gaulle was leaning on them about taxes, or that there was a diplomatic crisis with France, or that Rainier's sister was stirring up trouble against him

I had absolutely no clue that Grace actually came from such a wealthy family.

As for me, I think Rainier is a total winner! Both in his looks and everything else.

When you're dealing with a biopic, I feel like the performance really needs to carry the weight, otherwise all that acting talent just gets lost behind how much someone looks like the subject. Personally, I think Abbie Cornish or Amy Adams would be great choices for Grace; they seem a bit more grounded than Kidman, who I guess tends to jump out of the character too much at times.

It's just a shame she can't actually act...😁

Tim Roth and Nicole Kidman? What a total disaster. Tim Roth was a terrible choice—honestly, seeing him on screen just turned my stomach. And Kidman? Another massive miss. They should have just cast some unknown actors who actually looked the part of the leads.

The movie itself is just bland and boring. It claims to be based on true events, but then you're left sitting there guessing what actually happened versus what was just made up...

It’s way too melodramatic. They treat Grace like she’s some kind of goddess or deity, acting like the entire universe revolves around her. It’s bad. Just really bad...
