Dell Latitude won't boot into Windows 7

I’m looking for some help here. I have a laptop Dell Latitude that I bought back in 2011. It won't boot up—Windows 7 won't even start. All I get are the indicator lights along the top of the keyboard. One thing I did notice, though, is that when those lights come on, the icons for lokot A and lokot 1 flicker a few times before everything just settles down and the screen stays dark. What should my next move be? What do I need to do to fix this?

And when you fire up your laptop, do you actually see any text or images popping up on the screen, or is it just a total black void every single time?

Start with the basics:
1. Unplug the printer, USB, or whatever else you've got hooked up.
2. Pull the power adapter.
3. Pop the battery out.
4. Hold down the power button for at least 15 seconds.
5. Plug the adapter back in—leave the battery out for now—and try turning it on.

The screen stays pitch black.

Give that fix Sean Moore77 suggested a shot. If the image still isn't showing up after you try that—well, there's a pretty good chance your motherboard finally gave up the ghost...

It doesn't necessarily have to be that. If you can't get the battery removal trick to work, try plugging the laptop into an external monitor before you power it on. It’s entirely possible the screen itself just gave out, or maybe it's just a loose display cable inside the chassis.
