Yeah, using a drone would be a pretty obvious fix here. I’d assume it could handle carrying about 150 grams without breaking a sweat—which is roughly what those newer smartphones weigh these days. I can't quite recall if they were mounting a phone directly onto the drone during their shots or if the drone just had its own built-in camera... If they were actually using phones, then we'd definitely need to revisit those ideas. But honestly, even if they just strapped a phone to a t-shirt, a backpack, or some kind of small pouch to act as a makeshift buffer, it would have slowed the fall down enough to make a difference.

The parachute idea probably wouldn't work; you'd almost certainly slam into some part of the structure on the way down. As for that phone and drone setup, I actually just read about this:
