After grinding away on a mini stepper at home every single day for three months, summer finally rolled around, and I realized my glutes hadn't budged an inch. I reached out to some fitness pros to figure out where I was going wrong, and they suggested switching to a stationary bike for better results. So, I gave it a shot. The first time I finished a workout, things got awkward with my partner. Even though I tried to play it cool and kept my mouth shut, he could tell immediately that something was off. It was incredibly uncomfortable—this stinging sensation made intimacy the last thing on my mind. The second time I used the bike, it was the exact same story: discomfort and zero enjoyment. By the third time, the inflammation was so bad that I’ve had to resort to using Johnson & Johnson products just to manage it. Now, I’ll wake up in the middle of the night feeling that same irritation, which means there's absolutely no way I'm getting back on that bike anytime soon. On the days I don't exercise, everything with my partner is perfectly fine—no issues at all—so I'm convinced the bike is the culprit here. I actually enjoy the idea of cycling, but honestly, after this, I'm pretty intimidated. Has anyone else dealt with something like this, or does anyone know why this keeps happening? 🤷

Hmm, I haven’t really run into anything quite like that before. Honestly, I’m at a bit of a loss as to what you should do. Would you just, I don't know, put a patch on it where his part used to be when you're out riding your bike?😁

I’ve experimented with every possible adjustment to my bike seat, but nothing has worked—it’s honestly just caused me pain. If I’m being honest, while it feels like a better workout for my legs than using an elliptical trainer, it’s completely trashed my intimate health. I haven't heard of anyone else dealing with this specific issue, either. It leaves me wondering: how does half the world manage to cycle and enjoy a sex life without any problems? Because right now, I can't even do that.

Wear underwear when you ride your bike 😬

My apologies, I just had to 🤣

😂 Cut the attitude. 🙂

OT: Maybe try switching up the seat entirely. Something along these lines?

Check with some specialized retailers.

😂 Give them a break. 🙂

OT: Honestly, you might want to look into a different seat altogether. Something like this?

I'd suggest checking out some specialty retailers.

Google, seriously? Is this thing designed for an adult film set or what?! 😂

I guess you should check with those specialty retailers.

I dig the sarcasm. 😁

Riding a bike isn't going to give you the glutes you're looking for, so honestly, it just doesn't seem worth all the effort and hassle 😉

😂 👍

Good sex burns plenty of calories too 😁

And you can always mix things up with positions that involve squats and pushups 😬

The bike thing is just awful. I still remember the pain after riding a Harley, and that wasn't even dangerous ☕

I honestly can't believe this. What actually works? First, they tell me a stair climber is the way to go, then they swear by the stationary bike—and now, apparently, neither of them does a damn thing. 🤷

When it comes to setting priorities, I have zero intention of enduring unnecessary pain or discomfort just to struggle with some overpriced, clunky gym equipment. I’m heading back to the stair climber; it just fits my routine perfectly. While I recognize that the stationary bike might be more efficient for hitting specific fitness goals, it hasn't been my favorite. I even tried using an extra gel pad on the seat, but honestly, nothing made it any better.

Well, maybe just ride a bike while doing squats at the same time! 😁 More like lunges, actually. 🤔

, because I certainly have no intention of enduring burning sensations or physical pain just to use some ridiculous gym machine.

Look, if it's too large, just tuck it upward and secure it to your navel with some Scotch tape...

Regarding priorities, I'm definitely not going to sit there and endure burning pain just because some mindless machine tells me to. I’m going back to the stair climber; it suits my routine better. Even if the bike technically delivers more results. I tried putting a gel pad on the seat, but it didn't change a thing.

Agreed, you shouldn't have to suffer. Check out that link I sent you earlier. Look into getting a different saddle. It isn't unusual for it to hurt that much. 😉

As for lifting the glutes, squats. Tons of them.

Weighted squats, or jumping lunges where you focus on driving upward with shorter steps.

Maybe you should try doing it without any assistance from the pros?

I’ve heard just about everything under the sun, but honestly, I can't believe people are saying you can't have sex because of a bicycle🙂
