The league is expanding to 48 teams. As of today, they’ve locked in 45 of them—that's the 38 listed below plus the 7 clubs coming up through the NBA qualifiers.
Here's the breakdown: teams get split into two regions, playing in 8 groups of 6. The top three from each group move on to the next round, where they'll meet the 8 teams that didn't make the cut during the first stage of the NBA.
In the second round, those 32 teams get shuffled into 8 groups of four. From there, the top two from each group punch their tickets to the Round of 16.
